Looking at adding a new level of service called Sky Priority to treat the HVP (precious metals) better.

I've never seen or heard HVP. Is this something tied to SkyMiles? I know DL has rolled out a higher fourth tier, Diamond.

HVP = High Value Passenger. Precious Metals is for the Silver, Gold and Platinum Medallion Frequent Fliers. The new Diamond level is Now also included.

Wow. Big bump on the stock price today. Almost $8 bucks/share.

Perhaps I should say "big", though. Remember the days when airline stocks traded at $80+/share? <sigh> Anyone think those days will ever return?

NO they will not.

[QUOTE=dragon;675989]A we’re going to continue growing ATL which is already at 1000 departures per day and we want to keep a footprint in certain markets but will be cancelling unprofitable markets. And 70% of those are the really small ones. “We need to protect Atlanta”. Could be talking about SWA or Citrus.[QUOTE]

I personally think this is ridiculous! Our CR&P folks need to realize there are other hubs besides ATL that they can schedule. Take ONE look at ATL on a day with a Broken deck at 3000 and the PRMs cause 30-45 min delays. Pax get ****ed...miss connections....and their plans are shot. All because everything comes through ATL. If we had our system ops a little more spread out like in the past, or like some other carriers, we could absorb more delays.

I'd like to see MEM grow..become the hub for domestic connections...kind of like the Dom Hub..and ATL be the mostly Intl Hub. But what do I know..I just fly the things and hear the pax complain.

In other words, more of the same. The economy is showing signs of life, Im starting to think that consolidation will be the only saving grace for this industry.

Not wishing BK on anyone; however, the industry is still broken and getting rid of the weak would help everyone. I mean this is a free market based econ .........oh wait a minute
