I see the company calling multiple times prior to the 10hr cutoff to try and get people to acknowledge.
As to 12 noon being the earliest on call I don't think the company can ignore that provision, that is a FAR and restrictive compared to the contract so no matter what we get that. |

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but even with the requirement to acknowledge an assignment within 2 hours, isn't the long call out still 12 hours for long call pilots. If a trip pops up in the middle of the night won't scheduling just assign it to a short call pilot scheduled on the that day instead of waking up a long call pilot in the middle of the night? Agains, still digesting it all, but it don't see many changes from our current PWA. |

I was thinking the same thing, but awaiting confirmation as I doubt my comprehension. Still trying to digest that email after reading it three times.

Here is your long call obligation. Section 23.S.6
6. A long call pilot who is assigned a rotation or converted to short call: a. prior to release from a rotation, must acknowledge such assignment or conversion prior to release. b. via telephone contact or electronic placement on his schedule on his last non-fly day (other than a vacation day) before an on-call day, must acknowledge such assignment or conversion no later than: 1) three hours before the scheduled report of the rotation, or 2) one hour before the scheduled start of the short call period. In a perfect world that would have come out a few hours after the Flight Ops memo. In the real world of union and management collusion and a generally disengaged pilot group, I anticipate yet another concessionary LOA in short order. I no longer have any faith in our MEC to actually look out for our best interests. |

Yep. I'm well aware of that, as are you apparently. What about the other 11,000 of us? I would expect my union to highlight exactly what you just posted in an email to the entire pilot group AT A MINIMUM....

80 and FtB might just get their wish for a national championship game. Keep it civil gents. Maybe we should start by a cheerleader comparison :)
