Just out of curiosity...do you call in fatigued every time you don't sleep well in the hotel? What has the company's response been?

That's unfortunate to hear that you haven't had great support. And no, of course I don't. I typically sleep well and I can usually operate very well after one night of poor sleep. But there are certain situations where I wouldn't. Be it time zone related, other life situations, etc where the added fatigue of a very poor nights sleep may make it unsafe for me to be in a cockpit. And soon we have to sign that we're fit to be there. If I'm truly not, I don't want to be there not giving it my undevided attention.

Why Delta Thinks It's Better Than a Mere Airline - Businessweek

Had to chuckle a little when I saw this. Hopefully the selective comparisons to those other than Cargo carriers (UPS/Fedex), Southwest, code share partners, etc can finally stop. Btw, 2.6 Billion net isn't bad considering all the places Delta is currently spending money.

"From an investment standpoint, Delta Air Lines (DAL) no longer wants to be a passenger carrier.
The airline is instead targeting the kind of consistent financial returns Wall Street has come to expect from railroads and truckers, from UPS (UPS) and other “high-quality industrial transportation companies,” as Delta executives explained repeatedly during the airline’s annual investor conference in New York today. “We no longer benchmark ourselves to the airline set,” Delta President Ed Bastian told analysts."

I guess that explains why DALPA doesn't think it appropriate for us to expect compensation as good as FedEx, UPS, and SWA pilots. Gotta keep it "realistic," given our "competitive set."

Considering the Delta Pilots have contributed the first $1.3 Billion of that, every year, since 2004, yeah, not bad at all...

Oh, and we gave them our DB money too.

Not even a thank you note.

Just reviewed my bid. I asked for a 5 day trip worth 30:35 total. Never looked at the DBH. 8:42 first day, 8:49 second day. Kind of hoping I don't get it. Odds this one will go as scheduled?

I'm so tired of sitting rsv, I'm hoping I don't get bumped back to it again next month.

However between the policy dispute about long call and the crazy trips, maybe it'll wash out.

Just read the new procedure to get from the plane to the hotel van pick point in JFK. To include taking either the Howard Beach or Jamaica Station Train to Federal Circle, just to get to the hotel van pick up point. Has anyone done this yet? How long did it take to get to hotel from plane?

It appears to me this process could take 50 to 70 min just to get from the plane to sitting on the van. If this is the case it is unacceptable and not in compliance with the spirit of PWA section 5.E.5 addressing the 20 min wait before obtaining transportation.

Why are we giving up terminal to hotel transportation? This is just the continuing trend of QOL issues being given away. Or am I making to big of a deal out of this?

Is MARTA to hotel in ATL next?

Well with the new trips at least we are getting that "more efficient" stink. At 3 day domestic worth over 21:00 out of DTW
