Jeez... I went from 95 to 3, guess that's what happens when you go PBGC. Where is the block cheese line in this burg?

Use delta.com or kayak.com to find the lowest possible ticket price. Then plug those flights into the fly confirmed for even less template and you will get the discount on the lowest priced tickets you could find.

Typically the lowest price tickets are non-refundable anyways so nothing is lost by using the non-refundable fly confirmed for even less option.

Stay away from the "refundable" fly confirmed for less.
While it sounds like those ticket are refundable, that's only true if the pre-discount fare basis was refundable. If the pre-discount fare is non-refundable, then the fly confirmed for less "refundable" ticket is also non-refundable...

Most likely you aren't looking at full fare refundable tickets anyways if you're asking about the discount program ;-)

It's a great program to knock some money off a confirmed ticket when you can't afford to play roulette with non-reving...

Cheers
George
Also, you get 2 free checked bags with "fly confirmed for even less," so that might save you some money too if you got lot of bags. However, if the bag is overweight (50lbs I think), you still have to pay overweight bag fee, so use 2 smaller bags instead of 1 huge. That was the $75 lesson I learned...

Retired at a 95 even though I live in the country. Maybe I need to move next door to Tsquare

I wonder how current the data is... but with the drawdown of NASA and related contractors, I am wondering if the number is not higher... smaller? But at any rate, come on down, the water's fine and housing's inexpensive and available.

It seems like they normally grind out these smaller AE's pretty quickly. I wonder if they are having some concern over not backfilling... It'll be interesting to see how this one shakes out...

I expect results by 4pm today.

There might be some higher math going on to comply with min staffing requirements by year end. That, and I am not sure management has been "constructively engaged" which results in imperfect communication and coordination, but that is just a guess.

Flight ops posted a link to two paragraphs on how to get to the Federal Circle via airtrain at JFK, both from terminal 2 and 4. Useful for those of us who don't commute to JFK. May want to print out the T2 part or read it a couple times.

HOWEVER...

FAIL--they didn't explain why it was being done and their justification for having us ride the train for pickup, they didn't estimate the distance, they didn't tell how long it takes, and they didn't say how long it will add to the trip. They didn't say if it's outdoors standing around in the cold waiting, or all inside. All obvious questions that anyone graduated from HS should/would expect from such a change. And of course, this info should have come out a week ago, concurrent with the directive to TAKE the train. It's like my 4th grader was allowed to be a manager for a day and this was his task.

Very possible. I'm sure some of the new CA spots will be filled with 7ER copilots, which will necessitate a decision on just how to staff those categories-- and just how many of the 757s will be parked in coming months...
