I understand the 117 10 hr/ company conflict issue but why does that remove the 9 hr check?

Thanks.
117 prohibits the certificate holder from requiring a crewmember from performing any duty during a rest period.

Between them all my advice is north county of San Diego and go for lax first then Slc then Dtw. I think I read ur comments and agreed w them. U gots to upgrade ur Internet commuter leetspeak lolz.

Roadkill,

Not a big deal, but your flight frequencies are incorrect. SAN-DTW is going down to two mainline flights a day. SAN-SLC is mostly 4 with sometimes 3 and sometimes 5 mainline.

Like you said we are both giving the same basic advice and I think he will able to hold LAX pretty soon.

This is exactly what I am talking about. The need for a detailed game plan until negotiations are completed and a new "when scheduling calls" is penned.

Long call is basically voluntary starting January 1.
No one ever has to acknowledge a trip until three hours prior to report and that means you cannot fly that trip. You can choose to acknowledge more than 10 hours prior if you wish, but no one is required to do so. It's strictly voluntary.
Management cannot rewrite our contract by issuing memos. If they want to clarify or change the long call provisions contained in our contract then they must either negotiate with ALPA or dock somebody's paycheck and force a grievance.
Until then they will just have to cover their open time using short call reserves, white slips and green slips.

Well, at least they have that 7th SC now. I'm sure those will be used.

That's how I see it. There isn't any need to clarify anything. The contract and WSC still applies, and the new FAR's, while not optional, do not change our contract any more than a memo. Proceed as usual until a change in the contract is negotiated and mind the FAR's.

Question for one of the high earners in the group. What happens to the 415 retirement account if you hit the 51000 max? I am wondering if the company contributions stop. Seems like if you were going to max it out might be better to stop putting 401K money into it so you could take advantage of as much company money as possible? I am still below the threshold this year, but I don't want to leave any of their money on the table in the coming years with the funds going to 15% Jan 1st.

It does not apply in every month. The 7th shortcall applies when the reserve guarantee is 75 hrs or above.

Not that I'm one of those guys but you wont leave any money on the table, it just gets taxed and goes into your regular pay for the month/s you have reached the 415 limit.
