I thought I had it and it did not post correctly again. I will be happy to send the data to anyone who can post it correctly. |

I'll concede, you are correct on the 56 number directly post 2012. I had forgotten about the ER and the initial replacements. However the proof is in the pudding as far as the wording of your post right htere. It's rapidly approaching 2 years since the last vacancy, and they did not replace the all 744/777 guys that took the ER in the first place. We are also a year and a half down range from Age 65 day, and not a single replacement for the the "real" retirements yet either.
While you are technically correct, the overall sentiment is also correct in regard to virtually no replacements since C2012. How much longer will it be with real retirements and no replacements for the 744 and 777? |

But if you want to be a Super Premium Capt, not so much. |

I must be missing your point. I posted what has happened sine the contract was signed. There is zero overall job loss. Yes there were categories that were overmanned and have shrunk. Overall however that is not the case. We even went up in 767/7er captains despite parking airframes. Timbo knows why the 777 has shrunk in ATL. Marketing shifts flying all the time. The 330 as a example was once planned to do a lot more over 12 hour flying and staffed for it. The flying never came and the numbers have gone down. We are up a significant number of Captains at Delta. If there had been even modest job loss in the new contract let alone massive job loss that would not be the case.

So not only are we down 777 Capts. since 2012, but we are down A330 Capt.s too? We may be up a significant number of Captains, but they are not in the highest paying seats. In effect, we are downsizing to more narrow body Captains, with less Super Premium Captains.

Why can't we have such trivial problems?
