Don't think this is a threat to them, look how hard it is to convince some already about unions....the carriers will just threaten to close the base and the rank and file will fold.

And how on God's green earth did you get that from my post? I'll try to simplify it for ya. I am skeptical that this will result in much upward movement.... if it is merely replacement aircraft, I couldn't care less if they order more aircraft. Better?

As you said, if you can be NY based you'd go, well once there and they terms just get crappier what would you do then?
Exactly.............

It is April 2cnd. Lift up a prayer, thought, or glass to the families and friends of the Gulfstream Flight Test G650 out in Roswell NM three years ago today. Several of us on this board lost close friends that day. God bless their families.

There is a complete explanation of the entire process out today. The window is 15 Apr to 13 JUN. If married you need a notarized letter from the wife.

A couple of Europe Spring Break questions. Do our hotels in Paris and London offer us a deal and do I just call to ask? Is nor revving on Air France cheaper or "easier" than other carriers? I looked up an interline rate on travelnet for an AF flight and it was several hundred dollars for CDG LHR. Can I intl JS? Anybody had luck doing Orbitz or Priceline the day of or day before for decent rates?

Thanks, leaving in about 9 days

It isn't that they will have a US base. What they will do is enable pilots to begin and end their trips in the US while being based in Dubai. Its called split rotation or reverse rotation.

For the layman, it looks and feels like US basing.

Doesn't Cathay Pacific have an Atlanta base?

I saw a random name pop up on linkedin, the guy was a 2006 hire on the 748 for Cathay and it said based in ATL.
