The alternative was no say in the JV's and the company can do whatever they want . This gives the "optics" of a say in the JV....and the company (and AK/KLM whom we have no agreement with) can still do whatever they want. After 3 years hopefully you've forgotten about it or it's OBE.

And that is at the heart of the problem with contractual JV production balances to begin with. The MEC cannot dictate via PWA that DAL adds flights or AF removes them. Virtually unenforceable. We continue to trade off our core flying for trinkets and baubles. The language is designed so that the compliance period will never allow for us being back in before the next one has us out.

Yet the agreement overall has served us very well.

Little help please

I'm trying to nonrev international on delta from ATL, when listing it says the flight is part of Delta's Patload Optimization Initiative. It says that non revs could be denied for revenue cargo...etc. How common is it to get left behind with empty seats on the plane on a 777 from ATL? ATL-JNB
Thanks for the help

I don't have any personal experience with non-revving to JNB but from everything I have heard you shouldn't have any problem gettin TO JNB, but will have a very hard time getting BACK due to the payload optimization. Have a ZED ticket on hand for KLM or SAA is the advice I have heard...FWIW

That warning is standard ops. on that flight. I flew this trip a couple weeks ago. Getting out of ATL is usually not a problem, ie. we fill all the seats, not much cargo going that direction, and going to JNB is an hour shorter leg (less FOB) than coming back to ATL. Your problem will be getting OUT of JNB, if you want to return directly to ATL.

We do haul a lot of cargo coming out of JNB, and we need more fuel, and the JNB airport elevation is 300' higher than Denver. Last time I flew it, we were right at the max takeoff wt. packs off, thrust bump, with about 20 empty seats and cargo and 295,000lbs. fuel for a 16:15 flight. We used nearly all of the 15,500' runway and rotated about 185kts.

Most non-revs. plan on going on KLM or Air France through AMS or CDG to get back to the states.

Anyone who wants real data and not forum myths on our share of the flying can go to the DALPA website under committees and read the IIAC report dated 08-15-13. It's labeled IIAC and codeshare MEC presentation 201308. Reference pages 18 and 19. They show our percentages of flying relative to AK/KLM/Alitalia since the start of the agreements. You can view both block hours and EASK..

If simple fact is we are not on his plate because DALPA refuses to take any public position at all.

Tsquare I could point to many, many examples of Richard taking a public stance to reach his goals.

Just yesterday on Deltanet. Pilots and flight attendants with management lobbying the Ex-Im bank. Does that guarantee a victory? Perhaps you need to call Richard and tell him how worthless this action is and how stupid he is.

Playing dead is not a good choice. Mirror the master. Richard sets public goals and makes them happen.

Your comments all comes directly from management's playbook. Whether you mean to or not, you are a management puppet.

I'm doing you a courtesy here. I know who you are now, and I got really tired of your propaganda on the DAL forums. You are going to my ignore list. Say what you want, to whomever you want to say it. I am not going to argue anymore with a doughnut shill. Even though you do occasionally have a nugget of useful information , overall you do nothing more than to divide this group and help your boy with his destructive agenda. Have a nice day.... buh bye.

Don't put him on ignore yet! He is about to give us a update on how that FBI investigation is coming. Massive arrests coming soon!

Send me a PM when he does, or I'll read about it in the Enquirer. My blood pressure is already back to normal knowing I don't have to endure his feckless grenades. (unless division is his goal then they are very effective)
