sailing-
They are bad numbers. They're violating our contract. Again.
Its costing us widebody jobs.
Is there anything management could do that you wouldn't rationalize and apologize for?

Ok, I read it. The numbers you post are what the company would need to add from March of 14 to march of 15 to be in compliance for the entire 4 year period. That means that had they put somewhere around 2 extra flights a day for the entire period they would be in compliance.
In addition the data shows that we are getting almost 60 percent of the total pilot block hours in the alliance. AF and KLM split the 40 percent remaining between them. Not bad numbers.

Fundamentally, it is a good agreement for Delta pilots. Delta, by virtue of having airplanes much smaller than A380's, has to fly more block hours to keep our EASK share up.

My understanding is the deficit is not cumulative. The numbers are only considered in aggregate so as to allow the Company to adjust for seasonal differences during a yearly window.

One concern is the ease with which Delta could comply by hitting the numbers briefly, then enjoying noncompliance with the spirit of the agreement during the remainder of the period.

The problem with production balance language is that there is no way to force the Company to comply when they just don't want to Fly Delta Jets. We agree in the probable pecuniary outcome.

At 11 * 3 pilots, per day, working 15 days a month ... am I wildly off to say this non compliance costs us about 500 to 600 senior widebody jobs who would be doing some pretty good overnights?

And having mostly grown up in the Norfolk area I do enjoy saying it right. Norfick or Norfuc, either way works if you're a local and the later is the most common.

My favorite was being an 88 guy talking to an ER B on our JS, he was commuting in to go to Sao Paulo. I said, oh that's cool, I lived a few years in Brasil and it was neat to return to... Sun Pawlow. It's how we pronounced it down there. He corrected me, where? Sun Pawlow. Where? Sun Pawlow? Oh you mean Sow Paul-o you lowly 88 guy (seriously not exaggeration). No. Sun Pawlow. No, it's Sow Paul-o. No it's not you bunda.

That dude really ****ed me off that day for a variety of reasons and it's making me irritated now, I think I'm going to go troll some Alaskan pilots...

Reminds me about the time about 25 years ago when I was a reserve 727 F/O, I ran into a guy from the south, who was flying into Boston for the first time.

There was (is?) a VOR/arrival west of BOS in the town of Gardner, Mass.

Look closely at the spelling, there are two, not one, R's in Gardner.

But none of the Boston Approach controllers or any of the BOS based pilots ever pronounced either one of those two R's. To us, it was Gahdnah VOR.

Anyway, this guy gets cleared direct Gardner, and then via the Gahdnah arrival into BOS and he's heads down in his Jepps, looking for such an arrival...can't find it.

Finally, after asking ATC a couple times to, "Repeat that?"

he says, "Spell it!"

BOS ATC: "It's G-A-Ahhh-D-N-E-Ahh!!!"

He looks at me with the w. t. f. face, so I hand him my arrival plate, "It's this one, the GDM 3"

He says, "How the fk did you get "GaRdneR" out of what he was saying??"

Me, "It's simple, Gahdnah's right next to Wusta!" :D (ya fukng moron!)

Don't know if you have walked in circles. I have and our Chairman has.

All we want is for Delta to comply with our agreement. Are your expectations different and if so, why?

Fine?

Picketing is perfectly legal.

You are seeing magnetic damping. The strong magnet creates a eddy current which in reaction creates an opposing magnetic field in the highly conductive copper pipe.

We use the same concept to ensure the wings stay on our airplanes.

How does one get rid of the FOP Catalog they once had downloaded on their Ipad?

PilotFrog 05-13-2014 07:41 PM

Are the new 330s coming the -300 242 Ton versions? I thought we were getting them in early 15, but the Airbus site says it won't be available till mid 2015.

Airbus will apply the 242-tonne maximum takeoff weight capability first to the A330-300, with an entry in service targeted for mid-2015 (followed by the A330-200 and A330-200F)
