Don't like them - change them, still don't like - run yourself. The Union is exactly what WE will make it to be. If we let it get corrupt - it most certainly will. All is in place already - we just need to be united and care to improve the union and the workplace. |

We should ask the question, why the dramatic split in the vote. What would we lose by keeping Compass within our group, and what was the possible gain by tossing them out.
Let's get some facts in here, a few credible witnesses, and then let's discover credible theories as to what happened, and why it happened. |

It keep a one of a kind relationship alive to see what develops. It allows us to keep representing them, and the company needed our corporation in their representation if they choose to sell them. It allows DALPA to represent the pilot of an airline where the lion's share of our pilots would go in a furlough. IMHO it is in the Delta Pilot's to keep CPS on the list. If anything it will give us some leverage if needed. It would allow my union to speak for me if I got furloughed. Those are real issues. Taking them off of our representational structure just does the companies work for them. |
Is it possible to see a transcript of the 4 hours of heated debate?
I don't know how that works with these meetings. |

Maybe we'll create a JV with Compass now?

This really sucks as a CPZ pilot. The thing about this is now that we will be our own MEC is that I feel we woke up the sleeping Giants. At CPZ we have many former MEC, Negotiator, Contract ect.. from shut down ALPA companies who are ****ed off as they should be. I can almost predict that the CPZ MEC will try to protect the CPZ pilots at all cost....
6 months until CPZ is on our own.... I wonder if DAL south had 13 and DAL north had 12. I heard the LAX rep was pro CPZ |

I'm quickly turning into an anti-DALPA supporter here. How many issues has the MEC "worked" out without soliciting input from those it effects? Why could we not have gotten an e-mail stating that in this meeting they were going to decide if they were going to kick CPS out of our MEC? They could have listned to what WE, the union, had to say about it and then OUR reps could have voted on what WE wanted. Again, DALPA does stuff without soliciting what we have to say about the issues. It is also becoming very obvious that the Delta-N guys are attempting to do what the pilots want and the DAL-S guys are doing what the company wants. They did this now because they knew if they waited for the elections in ATL and SLC that they would lose the vote. I'm 99.9% sure that the ATL and SLC reps both voted to kick CPS to the curb. ALL the DAL-S reps need to go and LM needs to become a line pilot again. I can't wait to see the spin on this deal. Idiots. |
What happens when management wants E-190s at Compass? How does an MEC represent this issue without a DFR lawsuit? What about when Compass wants more pay raises than mainline? How do you represent two groups when their interests diverge? Frankly I cannot believe that the NWA MEC set up this loony arrangement in the first place. Compass needs to represent themselves and same with Delta.
