Whoa... Back it up.. Wasn't CE saying that it was $40 million BEFORE the amendment? That means we would have been paying for the privilege of flying those God awful things???

Baja.
At every line check meeting for the last 2 years, all rumors of HAL have been cut short before they get any life into a discussion. They bring nothing to the table except HND which we can get otherwise. (and a few 717s)

It means that CDOs were about a 2 million dollar gain for us (due to the premium aspect and high credit), but costed around 30 jobs.

As I said, most of the morning was in closed session where they apparently directed the NC to re engage the company. To my knowledge there is no record of who actually "sent it back."

I'll echo Check in that I was very impressed with the level of preparation and diligence displayed by the reps. They asked great questions of the NC and were skeptical/critical of each section of the TA line-by-line.

To the few that are suggesting we should be concerned about C2015 as a result of this TA/meeting I would say it is the exact opposite. As a regular line guy I was very pleased to see the high level of efficiency/effectiveness on display at the meeting. To say I was surprised to see them eradicate the SDP in the matter of hours is an understatement.
Me too. The power of our collective "no" voice will be called upon again shortly for C15. Let's be unified and prepared to do it again.

OK, somebody catch me up. I have been bouncing all the way spilling coffee all over the airplane for the last 6 hours from JFK to SFO. CDOs are dead. got it. Great great news. But don't the negotiators have to go back to the company to discuss that? We had an agreement in principle did we not? How is it that we can unilaterally cut out the CDO portion and still have an agreement. Must have been a contingency??? However it happened, I like it.

Alright so I'm reading through LOA 14-01 and Reserve Rules Changes and I'm trying to figure out this paragraph...

A pilot is on the second day of five on-call days. As of 1900, he has received no call from Crew Scheduling. The earliest report time or short call the pilot could have at this moment is 0700. This pilot may choose to turn his phone off, go to bed at 2200 and sleep for 8 hours, so long as he will be able to report fit for duty for a report at 0700 or later; or fit for a short call starting at 0700 or later. If the pilot checks his schedule or does not have a notification from Crew Scheduling when he wakes, the pilot now has 12 more hours to which he does not have to report.
If you're in the middle of reserve days and it's 1900 and you haven't gotten a call then you at least know that you won't be given an assignment before 7am. If you turn off your phone at 2200 and hadn't gotten a call then you know at that moment you won't have a show before 10am, 7am is not an issue.

Amirite? Because if they call you at 0300 and you wake up at 0700 and notice the call then yes you need to be able to be at work at 1500, it's not 12 hours from the moment you notice the call.

So you technically can now be given a 1000 SC on day 1 of reserve but you're not required to acknowledge anything or look at anything on your day off per FAR 117. So at 0000 they call for 1000sc, you're on the hook for the 1000sc but of course you can exercise the 2 hour option so really you're arriving at 1200 which would've been the same as getting a trip at 1200.

Of course on reserve I got more than a few "how quick can you be here?" And they were for go times under 2 hours. Seems to me the company isn't stupid, they'll probably stick to 1200 and save the headache of guys saying I'll be there at 1200 but no I won't be pushing at 1200 if that's what you're hoping for.
