Their past track record in pre-merger/bankruptcy negotiations does not lead one to have a lot of confidence that they will negotiate a new contract before we do. I sure hope they do.

Denny

You guys are wrong they are an independent union, in fact they are two independent unions, they will not be shackled down by ALPA. With all their leverage points they will simply walk into Parker's office and tell him they want DALs 2004 rates adjusted for inflation. He will of course agree immediately and the contract will be signed.

Honestly I hope they crush our rates and we have someone's rates to look up to for c2015.

My guess: It's the female Gov't Affairs rep from JFK.

737-1000 anybody?

Boeing cannot be this incompetent. SO they destroyed the tooling for arguably one of the best aircraft they have developed. OK. There's zero corporate knowledge or designers capable of recreating it? Or is all they are currently able to do is add a plug into existing airframes?

You often hear of one refer to another as a good guy. Tom wasn't just a good guy, he was a FINE MAN.

The design is to old and can't be built at any kind of competitive cost. It's toast regardless of the tooling situation.

Send one to China and they'll have the tooling to sell back to us pretty quick. That way they can bribe us with our own money just like the emerati are doing. We might have to provide their regional defense for them, but that's OK too because they can loan us the money for that with interest as well.
