Delta1067,
I forgot to mention that you can green slip or white slip a trip over the payback days you used to drop a trip. Denny Nice. How did you get all the pay using your payback days and only flying 1 trip? You don't get paid for the trip that gets dropped do you? Also, can you use one PB day to drop an entire 4 day trip? |
How can a case study be made on our EFB'. If we don't even have them? Man this is ridiculous!!

For my 1 to 4 August trip, I used my APD to drop the 4th and then I called scheduling and used payback days to get paid for it. I only dropped one day with the APD and I'm hoping to pick up a 4 day GS starting on the July 29 and getting back on August 1. If I can get it, I will add 14 hours to July plus 3 payback days back in the bank and get 13(X2) hours added to my August total! The reserve coverage wasn't very good and my APD resets in September. If you only have one payback day, then yes you can drop a four day trip but only get paid for the first day. If you have more than one payback day, the system will automatically take as many payback days as you have to cover the trip. See above for pay. Denny |

That's the beauty of it.......you DO get paid for the trip that is dropped with payback days as long as you have enough payback days to cover the entire trip. If you don't have enough payback days to cover it then you get paid for however many days it does cover.

I'm sure it's being dealt with. It's possible that the individual is having some serious personal issues. While certainly a black eye to Delta, it just might end up being the push that sends this guy to PAN. It could save his life. I know it's pure speculation on my part, but the fact that he snapped so easily makes me think something else is going on in his life.
I'm sure you did, but maybe remind her that pilots are human, and we suffer from stress too. Remember the JB pilot who was locked out of the cockpit by his FO? It happens. I just hope that if this guy needs help, this will get it for him. |
If you pull back and just look at the money at risk for management.
Millions of dollars per plane. Hundreds of passengers. Hundreds of millions in liability. And..... No crew meals. Up to 15 hour duty days not counting waking up and driving to work. Now 10, 11, 12 days in a row of work. Is putting our capital at this much risk wise? Management is playing with fire. |
