I really hope ALPA is aggressive on the JV screw-job.

OBTW - Whoever agreed to a three year measurement window with a one year ignore (I mean cure) period should be voted out of office.

Scoop

I would state that most of the MEC that voted for it is no longer on the MEC, but the IAAC Chair of that time, is now an EA and the MEC does not vote on them, just confirms.

And it wasn't Halsey.

It would be the MEC. Given RA and Company's track record, I would expect that this is a first mover in a series of moves. We reallocate assets etc. I am curious what they are going to announce to the all of the employees shortly. Much of that may be key.

I wouldn't put anything past em, but it looks like they "might" have to send some new hires to the ER again. From my math:

ATL - 36
DTW - 25
LAX 0
MSP - 25
NYC -32
SEA 0
SLC 0

They said that they weren't going to backfill up to a combined 30 spots in DTW & MSP, but it looks like they got -50 there.

So, we look to be down 88 spots system wide after that if that's all the bodies they wanted off the fleet. Just depends on how tight they want to run it I guess.

If they didn't backfill, then they need to offer those to existing pilots first. If there were no bids in that is different. Do not forget that they are parking a few 757's this fall. The staffing may not be needed.

I guess bainite counted, but idk if he counted the guys that bid off.

You talking the Korean 777-300's that they are returning to Boeing?

The spots have to be available for bid. They do not have to post a specific AE. They were available on this AE so they can now place new hires in those spots.

Hopefully this is a valid aircraft rumor.:

Looking at the SLC 7ER, the new plug was 20 from the bottom prior to 2014 hiring. With the newhires one year training freeze, SLC 7ER might go to new hires this month!

By " bringing the Narita hub back home" to SEA, we don't need the 74 feed across the Pacific.

I predict a big Airbus order, with used 330's arriving much sooner than expected, to include 330 NEO's arriving later when the rest of the 74's are due for heavy checks.

This new acft order will require early and quick action by DALPA (like the 717 time critical opportunity) resulting in early outs for 74 drivers, training relief for the company, and possibly a C2015 TA ahead of schedule..

Jmho..back to my IPA

Edit; didn't know about the Korean Air 777-300 rumor..that would make more sense in the immediate future, especially given the increased 777B awards in the AE. How many 777's are we talking about?

That doesn't account for the massive capacity loss just 2 months away. Something else is going on.

Save the whales!

It sure ain't gonna' help!

I guess now we know why they haven't replaced the 17+ ATL 777 Capts. who have retired in the last 18mo. They'll have PLENTY 747 displacements coming in Jan, no doubt!

I wouldn't want to be the plug on it today, they are toast.

No dog in this fight, but trust me, there are worse places in aviation, hell DL, than the Whale CA plug.
