Ross, thanks very much for the invite! I'll start working on the wife for a kitchen pass! I have really enjoyed flying with you and all those other great guys listed, I am sad to see you all going, seriously, I mean that.

You guys have treated me extremely well and taught me so much over the many years. You've been like big brothers to me. It has been one of the highlights of my career to share the cockpit and layovers with you and them, I would love it if we could keep flying together forever but as they say, all good things must come to an end.

I only hope that I can maintain the high standards of being both fun to fly with and being very competent on the flight deck, that you and they have established.

BTW, there won't be any photos taken at this party...right?

(unless of course we can get one of RA dancing on the table, wearing a skirt!)

Congrats on the retirements. Hope the party is police blotter epic.

Actually, Delta doesn't "provide" me with anything... last time I checked, they compensate me for a service that I "provide" to them.

After having a pension "legally" stolen and 42% of one's "provided" compensation taken, I'm a little less inclined to see them as a benevolent benefactor... potato, tomato.

I know, I should just be quiet and color...

At least our senior managers are being handsomely rewarded... and yes, I do think that is germane.

Have a great Delta Day!

Yes, but in very limited circumstances. The report has to be within 12 hours (otherwise it would just be a normal LC trip assignment), but greater than 10 hours from notification. That way you would have your 10 hours of "rest" prior to report.

To sum it up, you can get a GS as LC pilot if scheduling gives you a trip that signs in greater than 10:01 from the time of contact up to 11:59 from the time of contact.

Make sure you also look at 23.U.1.B Note two:

"A reserve pilot awarded a GS rotation in which all duty periods of the rotation are scheduled to operate on on-call days may request that one X-day that coincides with a day on which the pilot does not have a duty period within the GS rotation be moved to the first day of the GS rotation."

Are you sure this is correct? My understanding is that a reserve pilot can GS a trip with less than 10 hours to report on only his/her X days. If one is on LC, then one would need to have a minimum of 10:00 to report in order to get the required prospective rest prior to report.

Yes. This seems correct. Thanks for the reference.

I was asking whether anyone has actually seen pilots being unstacked into multiple consecutive trips, and if so, what category?
