Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Alfa's pretty far from an idiot. It's really his agenda that is the issue isn't it?
This isn't a north versus south thing tsquare. It's a simple case of the majority of our current reps do NOT want pay restoration. They prefer partnership and cooperation.
It's not badmouthing them, it's a simple statement of fact. A majority of them truly believe that cooperation with management is more important than restoration, or defending our scope language.
We'll never know because DPA won't be the bargaining agent for C2015. This conversation is about our current union and our current reps.

(Although don't forget that Alfa was the one who first brought up the term "idiot." I'm thinking if he can't stand the heat he needs to get out of the kitchen.)
I've heard of some non RFP used planes in the works, but nothing about an expanded RFP.

I said it wasn't a perfect analogy. But I do think it makes a valid point.
Yep. We're the proverbial "prettiest pup in an ugly litter." See below...
You're a 767 Captain, right? Here's what your rate was in 2004: $267.52
What is it today in 2014 (10 years later)? $219.62
In order to have the same buying power as the 2004 rate, today's rate would need to be at least: $335.92 (And that's using published inflation. Arguably, it might need to be considerably higher than that.)
Yep. Performance does count!

Also, it would work if the first duty period were a deadhead only duty period, as that would not be an FDP and would not require the 10 hours of prospective rest under the FAR.

I suspect the RFP is going to be almost exactly what the company stated. They want around 50 widebodies with deliveries to start in late 2017. The airframes are planned as replacements not growth. The only thing I see changing is if the rest of the whales are parked they might take delivery of some airframes sooner.
You completely omit the most important fact. In business the most important thing is your cost structure relative to your competitors. Lose control of your costs and you will lose the business. The NMB believes he above and regardless of what you believe we have to work through the NMB to get a contract. Those who have ignored that fact have had zero success.
