Robo, I'm sorry to hear about your family's loss.

They're contractually obligated to pay four days. If they do the right thing, they'll pay you for the whole trip.

Please keep us posted. We go "above and beyond" the contract to help the company. I sincerely hope they do the same for you.

Good info, however do you know if this same link will work for college football games while awake in Asia?

Thanks,

Fly safe,

OC

I'm almost certain they will drop whatever you ask for, but you will only get paid for 4 days.

They will work with you to use vacation days to help pay for more than 4 if you need the pay, but they won't just pay you for more than 4 from what I've experienced. They are very good at getting you however much time off you need and will get you S1 passes if you need to fly anywhere. If you need more than 4 days off and need the pay, they will let you use any unused vacation days to drop more days with pay.

Yep.

"The Diamond HSA will be called the Silver HSA, and the Ruby HSA is changing to the Bronze HSA. This aligns with how the public healthcare exchanges rank their plans’ value."

This is a bullet point from the 2015 changes. By 2016 we will have the option of HSA's only that will mirror options available on the exchanges. Eventually Delta will raise the costs enough that it will make more financial sense to go to a public plan and take your HSA dollars with you.

I see that PD was in a particularly negative mood today. Yikes, dude... tone it down.

What was the point of Mike Hanson's C2019 article? Does he work for us or management?

"Micro" Base?

There was some question about what Crew Resources were thinking when they mentioned the possibility of a 777 "micro" base. They answered that question in the latest Crew Resources letter.

The concept of "micro" categories refers to small categories. The categories will have line holders and reserves and there will be no changes needed to the PWA. We envision 25-30 crews. We are currently analyzing the feasibility of the MSP-777 categories. No decisions have been made. If we open these categories it would not be until 2015. The challenge we have is weighing the credit savings gained from opening the categories with the potential training cost that will result. Depending on the amount of training generated from opening new categories it could be more efficient to continue to leave DTW-777 open and deadhead crews to MSP and LAX to start the rotations. We are analyzing the potential scenarios now and will provide updates in future newsletters.

Not to change the subject but have any of you taken a look at the new healthcare plans for 2015. Gotta say I'm not impressed. If I read them correctly, this year under the diamond HSA (which becomes the silver HSA) the deductible for an individual is $2750. Then the 80/20 kicks in for another $500 so the max out of pocket for an individual is $3250. It looks to me under the 2015 plan the deductible is NOT counted towards the max out of pocket so the 80/20 now applies to $2500 (instead of $500 like 2014). Making the max out of about $5000 for the year. I'm talking similar plans from year to year.

Am I wrong?

Much overlooked and in dire need of repair. Basically worthless unless you have a major event.

IMO management should put $4000 a year in all pilot's HSAs and the unused portion rolled to the next year.

IMO pilots who don't use the company health plan should be provided 75% of what the company would otherwise be paying in premiums for that employee so as to provide fair compensation across the group. I put it in my survey. I'm guessing I'll see it in a TA somewhere down the road just like the CDOs showed up in one, except you actually heard about this idea before you read it in an DALPA TA announcement.
