The 550 is an absolute dream to hand fly. Flew a test hop recently and did a 45 degree bank angle steep turn at FL510. As long as you stayed smooth, there was no stall buffet or Mach buffet. The 650 is even better.

Anything to add PD? Or can we consider this myth busted?

Still waiting on that PM exposing the scandal. :p

Any update on your pledge to look into the individual receiving FPL to administer the ALPA golf tournament?

Very serious question: Where can you watch college football when spending a Saturday in AMS?

I need, I need....

On my Ipad if it's ESPN. Get the watch ESPN app and log in with your provider username and password. Mine is ATT Uverse. It even works on GOGO but it's spotty.

Delta filed for bankruptcy in Sept 2005.
Age 65 went into effect in Dec 2007.
A little over two years.

So he's saying that 1700 Delta pilots were aged 58 or over in 2005 ?

I don't think so.

I agree with your logic but you are stopping at 2012. Age 58 and below may have made the original cut but then many would have hit 65 in 2013 and 2014. So maybe most Pilots below roughly age 56 in 2005 could be still here today, and a bunch of them would then hit 65 in 2015.

Plus didn't some guys bail in 2004 also?

The affect of the "mass exodus" gets less and less with each passing year.

The retirement exodus started in 2002. Each big drop in interest rates would bring a slug of retirements. The vast majority of pilots who went early were 56 and up. Most of the retirements fell in the 2002 to 2004 range. I believe the plan was officially put into distress in June of 05. That stopped all lump sums. The actual numbers were put out during the seniority list process as it was a issue. I don't have them now but the vast majority would have turned 60 before the change. That is the reason it was not factored in by the arbitrator in the SLI.
The actual numbers were also posted on the old board many times.

All good but I don't have cable, well we have basic cable, CH 1-12.

My experience was that ESPN etc would not let me watch because I don't pay cable $100 per month.

No sports bars or anything in AMS that could carry college (American) football?

If anyone wants to PM me their account username and password, I'd be deeply appreciative. :)

Contract help

My wife's grandmother passed away tonight after a long illness. She is in a better place. I see that the contract allows for 4 consecutive days off, with pay, once you notify the CPO. We're thinking the funeral might be on Monday (7 hour drive away) . I'm scheduled to start a 5 day trip on Sunday. Will they approve dropping the first 4 days of flying then have me pick up the remainder to the rotation? Or pay me for the just the first 4 days? Haven't had to deal with this before and have no idea how it's normally handled. Thanks

They should drop the entire trip and pay you the first four days. Check with the CPO tomorrow.
