I am also a newbie. Don't understand how we have to concentrate only consolidation and getting off probation and nothing else. So us newbies can't ask questions about the contract and how to maximize our earning potential until we are off probation?
This is a forum for information. Many new hires read and learn about stuff here that is not taught in the classroom.

Cooperate and graduate. I fly a jet that takes 4 guys to get off the gate...if you enter that environment with a big ego, good luck.

What so many guys don't understand about greenies is there is not a competition (maybe friendly) about getting them, it's a collaboration to help spread them.

In my category, of the guys that greenslip, and also the ones that whiteslip above the greenslip trigger, if everybody just greenslipped with conflict, lookout...cha Ching.

As far as the other, I can't see the ego or sarp-shooting in the guy's posts. Just seems to me like someone trying to learn the system. I don't see anything wrong with that. Most of the "tips-and-tricks" I know are from guys just flat out telling me, or from me asking.

There's no reason a new guy shouldn't ask contract questions to maximize income on first-year pay. The guys we're hiring should be able handle learning procedures, the FOM and the PWA.

The corollary to this rule is: all bases of like equipment have to be on board to do this... I've seen so many out of base GS's just since the beginning of the month it'd make your head spin.

Can't you just put award flying with Check Airmen in PBS? You don't have to know their employee numbers do you?
