Apologies if this has been posted already, but here's a quick press release from the company that was doing the MD88/90 cockpit display retrofit announcing that Delta has terminated the contract. Basically, Delta has booted them for failure to deliver. From what I hear, the plan is to find someone who will do the absolute minimum to make the Dogs RNP capable for NextGen and call it a day.

No I do not, that is my point. There will always be someone that will find a way to rationalize flying a greenslip regardless of what gets missed.

I had a broken rotation, I was NYC based at the time, my Captain sicked out and I get a short notice ATL Capt on a greenslip. He comes into the cockpit snotting all over the place and tells me he is sick but there was no way he was passing up such an easy greenslip (one leg out, layover, one leg back)

How long have you been around here Herkflyr? It was kind of hard as a furloughee watching those guys have multiple greenslips each month while we had guys on furlough. I know I know it would be flown anyway so it might as well be me. Heard that a lot too.

Lol. Most of our guys never drop any trips after getting a greenslip. Most of our guys just fly to the max. They pick up anything and everything. Dropping trips means less pay which a lot of our guys aren't willing to do. To each his own. I've picked up 2 greenslips in my career. The first one was a 4 day that I didn't want. I had put in a blanket greenslip without realizing that greenslips are not proffers. I flew it and my wife was furious at me because she had to go out with a bunch of couples without me. She made plans that weekend because it was first weekend I had off in months. Learned my lesson. The second one was a 2-day that I picked up when I had a 4 day dropped for OE. My wife didn't care about that one as she was expecting me to work anyway. I will do a greenslip if I have no plans. Once plans are made with my family, going to work is off the table. My wife is really good about working around my schedule. She understands that I might get home a day late a couple of times per year. She gets upset though if I pick up trips after plans are made. I want my relationship to work. A lot of our pilots end up divorced and wonder what happened. I am obviously in the minority here with my opinion on greenslips.

This is my policy also, I think you will be richer at the end of the career as you will be on wife number 1.

I think that's how bids look at airlines that aren't getting out of the widebody business. Their operation seems to be a mess though. Everyone in the IAH airport is running again tonight, just like the last two times I came through.

Not to be ungrateful, but I had overly optimistic expectations of "iCrew Mobile". I was kinda thinking of an app that logs you on automatically and gives access to all important stuff in ICrew. Not a mobile website that you log onto with your username and password after logging on to Deltanet with your username and password. Still good to be moving into the new millennium, though. IPhone / Android app, coming to a device near you, in 2020.

It might be user error. I've had it for years and it goes directly to my schedule and open time. Never had to log in to Deltanet. Just a thought.

I think you're thinking of iCrew Max. He's talking about iCrew Mobile, which is a Delta website that you can start using tomorrow.

Apparently you have to log into DeltaNet first before using it...

I think he's talking about the new one that is being rolled out tomorrow. It's a lot like I crew Max, but it only works when you are online, and you can't swap or do a lot of other things while you are at work. (nannyware). You can copy trips to your delta email, but that is of course behind so many firewalls and is so difficult to access it's effectively useless. All your emails go into deleted email anyway. It's as if we are intentionally not adopting computer technology. Tech today is so pervasive, so intertwined into every day life that it is difficult for anyone to imagine how far behind the times we are with regards to our jobs. Totally dark ages.

Oops, my mistake. Yeah, I'm talking about Icrew Max. Sorry Flyz.
