No I do not, that is my point. There will always be someone that will find a way to rationalize flying a greenslip regardless of what gets missed.
I had a broken rotation, I was NYC based at the time, my Captain sicked out and I get a short notice ATL Capt on a greenslip. He comes into the cockpit snotting all over the place and tells me he is sick but there was no way he was passing up such an easy greenslip (one leg out, layover, one leg back) How long have you been around here Herkflyr? It was kind of hard as a furloughee watching those guys have multiple greenslips each month while we had guys on furlough. I know I know it would be flown anyway so it might as well be me. Heard that a lot too. |

To each their own on the GS. With that said, flying GSs with peeps on furlough is just about 180 out to union objectives and the theoretical union brotherhood as you can get. We prob ought to sneak something into the PWA that disallows this while it's cheap.

Question. I got an out and back green slip today. Typically I see a G by my name on my schedule but there is an F instead. Anyone know what F means?

Notoriously inaccurate. It does not count freezes, fences, or percentages. I have twice gotten awards where there were supposedly 70 plus people ahead of me for a vacancy according to the template I should not have been able to hold.
If you are in spitting distance and want it, bid it and you might be suprised. OTOH, don't put a dream sheet AE preference in unless you really want those positions. They are holding people to mistaken and unintended bids for the most part  Maybe a wormhole will open, and such a product will miraculously appear, same as the Crewmember Activity Statement did. Maybe we can just skip the wait, agree to say "sure, it was your idea all along, no problem", and just get on with it already. I do reserve the right to roll my eyes if someone actually does say that, however. Nu |

But, they have a place, and your post was implying that anyone who ever flew one was self centered, worked too much, etc. That might be true in some instances, but you can't just make blanket assumptions. |

I mostly agree with you. Anyone flying sick EVER, GS or no, is a tool. I haven been been here since 97 and have flown five total GS. I refused to ever put one in while guys were furloughed.

Unfortunately I've seen too many guys start to rely on them as part of their paycheck so much so that when they dry up they are in the hurt locker. |

I did not mean for my statement to come across as never fly GS's, what I meant for it to say is don't be ruled by them. More money in your pocket is good. More money in your pocket at the cost of family not so good.
