The trip you just described would pay at least 17:25 even before the ADG changed. The downside is it doesn't pay any different if you do the flying on day 1 and 2 of a 2 day, or day 1 and 3 of a 3 day with a 30 hr layover.
The problem I have with the ADG is that the 30hr layover on the trip still has no value if you average over 5:15 on the other days. It just takes another day away from home to earn it. We need some type of calander day minimum to make that time have a value. This ^^^^^^ |
Every one's got to find their own path wrt gs's. I do know that every time I want do some thing nice (or even amazing) for my family, some one is insisting that I pay them money for it. ;)
While I missed the 5dy pvr trip (:(), we had three amazing vacay's this year... due in no small part to the 12dy greenie. As far as my now 13yo appreciating that I was around for when she was a toddler... she doesn't remember a thing that we did during that time in her life (maybe I'm not very memorable!)... But I certainly have great memories (until my alzheimer's kicks in!). |

That is a beautiful thing, and in my view, the best part of flying a GS -- it lets you take tons more time off elsewhere and still earn the same amount of $$$.

My fNWA 320 CA said he was a 89 hire and his pension was frozen at his DC-10 FO rate..should be around 5k a month. Not throwing stones, but that's a lot of beer money!

I believe, if there is no layover involved, it is taxable.
