Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

When there is an issue about which we truly have cause for concern, it does not help that cause to exaggerate the issue by making factual misstatements.

^^^This is something I absolutely agree with. Exaggerating for effect is counterproductive and dilutes the message.

Several frequent posters can't seem to help themselves though. That fish is always THIIIIIIIIIIIIISS BIG!! The comments just make a mess of things and accomplish nothing :(

A greenslip with conflict is like getting your dropped trip paid for, then getting a whiteslip. The only time I ever see it is when the trip is for pilots with special qualifications. An example would be a trip bringing an MD-90 back from China that we just bought. Only certain pilots can do that so they will buy those pilots' trips. Other than that green slips with conflict do not happen.

Nobody on their death beds wishes they had more time to trick or treat. They want more booze, chicks and rock music. That takes money and the best way to get that money is greenslips.

You would be amazed how much something as little as trick or treating means to a toddler. Where do you draw the line? Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries? Serious question. Do you live to work or work to live? I work to live. Days off are just too precious especially with young kids. Now when the kids are older and in college my attitude might change. Certain things in life are priceless. That means that I wouldn't trade those moments for any amount of money. I am obviously in the minority. I probably fly less than the majority of the pilots at this company.

Everyone's life is different. But perhaps she went to PVR the friends on THAT vacation then they went on a fantastic 10 day vacation that blew that PVR one out of the water.

I know with even a third of a 33K GS I could plan a pretty amazing vacation.

Your kids won't be able to go to college because you went trick-or-treating with them instead of picking up green slips. :D

Seniority is king.
My green slip today I was able to drop of my kids off at school and then pick them up at the bus stop.
I have no problem with working some extra days for some extra cash once in a while. My single mother worked 6 days a week when I was a kid and I knew she hated missing certain days with me but on the flip side I learned to appreciate her for her work ethic and learned life is not easy.

This trip operates daily. It used to be in open time almost every day - I am curious to see what happens in November.

Like Buzz said - the 5:15 is a huge improvement for us LAX guys.
