Do you get an email from UPS prior or do they just show up?

I was supposed to get mine at the Spring LCA meeting, then June,July, Aug etc. I have been retired for over a month and guess what ?, I just got mine. With no access to ICrew it will make a really cool paper weight, what a country ! To answer your question, you will get a notice from sender and UPS.

Immediate notification has always been required when you get a jury duty notice. What changed in the last contract was how we get paid. If you get the notification in time to have it posted to your schedule prior to the PBS run you get a fixed amount per day. If you are notified after PBS has been run you will be paid for missed trips.

Not my case a year ago. I gave them 6 weeks notice. I had a JD spill into the next month and they did not post it to my schedule in PBS for the following month. They then split the trip I had at the end of the month so that I would fly the first half on the weekend and then report for jury duty. It is a two week thing here and you typically go in a few times. I called the company and rep and was told to keep them posted and they would drop parts of the trip as needed. I ended up going in a few times and was released in time to fly the next trip.

Years past they just dropped whatever was on the two weeks, not so much now....

They did not pay you for the missed flying? I guess I should have said flying missed. They have always had the option to split the trips. Careful trip selection while bidding can minimize that option.

Anybody have any recent experience with our passport vendor? Need to know whether they really take the full 10 business days to get a new primary passport to you.

Went through T in the MSP CPO. 7 days later showed up at my house, as advertised.

I go to the passport office in ATL and expense it. That's for my second Russian visa passport, so of you love in a city with a passport office you can do it in a day. My wife has even non-reved woth the girls once to get their passports in another city.

The pre-posting of known legal duty leave is at the company's option. They don't have to do it. If they do, you get 5:15 for every day they pre-post as "PJRY" on your schedule. If they choose to not pre-post, then they run the risk that you will be awarded a trip that will conflict and they will have to drop or modify that trip to resolve the conflict and you are pay protected if you originally notified them as soon as you got the summons. It's a gamble on their part, but the choice is in their hands.

Last time I renewed mine was a couple years ago. I used the Delta provided expeditor, CBIT.

You'll have to fill out the forms on DLNet, and I had to fill out the Chinese Visa stuff print them out at home in triplicate, and get two photos at CVS, etc. but I used the DL provided overnight FedEx envelope and sent it on a Friday, got it back (with the CH Visa) on the next Friday. Cost was only the $10 for the CVS pictures.

Last two times I had jury duty, I wound up doing it (as I preferred). The county courthouse is about a 5 minute drive for me.

No intervention by the company at all. My county is VERY specific in that unless you are bleeding out of your eyes and ears, they expect you to be there.

IMHO, lots of people complain about the "stupid legal system", but when the chance to participate presents itself, all they can think about doing is weaseling out of it.

If you don't participate, you get the status quo, or what someone else wants. That goes for a lot of things.

Of course everyone won't bid off ASAP. You will probably see some FO's bid it that could be CA somewhere but want the uber seniority. That happens in every category. But the bottom of the lowest paying, high cycle flying plane is always junior.
