Boy, that agent must of been just as surprised as you!

I access the VRU via my iPhone, and don't have a problem, I guess I enter the numbers a bit slow, then again, I know guys who program the 1-800 number, a pause, then their ID and password into their phone and it works.

If you're a reserve, this is the section of the contract that talks about that:

Code:

At the end of each bid period, a reserve pilot will receive the greater of:
a.    his accumulated credit earned in the bid period,
b.    his reserve guarantee, or
c.    5:15 pay, no credit for each qualifying duty period.

Note: If the value of c. exceeds the greater of a. or b. above,
the pilot will receive pay and credit for the greater of a. or b.
and pay, no credit for the difference of the value of c.
and his credit for the bid period.

So, I think that end of month it calculates what you're going to get paid. So it might look like you're getting 10:09, but at the end of the month it will be figured out. Other reserve guys, is this right?

Yep, see my above post. You need 14 duty periods to get paid 5:15 a day. FWIW, I have had it happen a few times.

Eh, we were posting at the same time. Thanks for the right answer.

So let me get this straight. Reserves just have to average 5:15/duty period for the month while line holders get paid a minimum of 5:15 for each individual duty period. I'm not going to lie. The more I read the Delta contract, the more I think the Northwest contract was better (other than the actual pay rates).

What you read is correct. Reserves to not get a min day every day that they work. They get the greater of what was posted above. It take a lot more "work" for a reserve to break guarantee.

There always seems to be issues with the VRU. They are probably doing software updates.

We're up to Windows 98 "Millennium Edition" running on a Iomega ZIP Drive purchased salvage after hurricane Katrina flooded the Goodwill. It buggier than a fourth of July picnic on a Mississippi riverboat.

Bit, I'm hearing that users get a free subscription to AOL dial up for a month.

On the third attempt I thought it had worked and was patched through to a flustered gate agent boarding a flight somewhere ( really). You South guys ever have this problem? Or is it a me/iPhone problem?

I have my iphone programed to log me onto the VRU automatically.
Program the DALCrew phone number then put a , then your employee number and passcode like you normally enter it with the # at the end. Works great every time for me.

That would be hilarious if it were not true!

Reserves get the greater of 1. What they fly 2. reserve guarantee or 3. 5:15 per day for any day they actually crew a a flight (not DH)

Exactly, and a four day with three fly days is only worth three duty periods.

95% of the time you are going to get your 70 hrs, but if they fly you a lot of days on turns like they do on the 88 here in ATL the duty day stipulation may be the greater of the three. The computer knows what it is doing. I watch my pay and credit and it is always correct.
