If these profits continue and there's no agreement by March 2016 you will have a pilot group in open revolt.
The NMB will be the least of ALPA's worries.
That would be the key to a contract without NMB involvement. In the end however it will come down to cost. The contract some say is their minimum will cost well over a billion a year. Airlines have operated for years with very ****ed off pilots but still posting good operational results. RA will be happy to throw some money at us for labor peace but he will only open his wallet so far. He not about to let his overall pilot costs get to far above the industry average. He will fall back on the courts and NMB in that situation.

Except as expressly provided otherwise, this agreement will become effective on July 1, 2012, will continue in full force and effect through December 31, 2015, and will renew itself without change through each succeeding December 31st, unless written notice of intended change is served in accordance with Section 6, Title I, of the Railway Labor Act, as amended, by either party hereto at least 60 days but no more than 270 days prior to December 31, 2015 or December 31st in any year thereafter. In the absence of an agreement by March 31, 2016, the parties agree to jointly petition the National Mediation Board for mediation services.
C2015 will be done long before then. They simply cannot accomplis the training.

Oh Brother, it's a good thing you know "Richard" so well.

Why the heck do we need a union for then?

Going into a negotiation with this mentality, will yield mediocre results.

RA will not need to fall back on the courts and the NMB. He will simply fall back to his role as the MEC chairman and put forth a full fledged FUD campaign. You and all the other usual suspects will fall in line spreading the fear of what will happen if we don't do exactly what Richard wants.

The only question this time is whether a majority of pilots will reject your fear spreading this time.

Carl, I know you think that you have a far superior intellect then most pilots. I have a lot more faith in the pilot group then you. Most will carefully look at all the information available and make a intelligent choice on what will provide the best overall contract.

Nobody buys this kind of deflecting man. Care to actually respond to the points being discussed? Once again for your review:

Maybe you can point out exactly where you think something the NMB is saying applies in a way that should stop us from asking for a restorative contract. I'll wait.

The process to "jointly petition" is part of the mutually agreed, pilot ratified labor agreement.

As you know we are required to jointly petition, per the PWA.

I am not saying its "preferred" by either party, but it was what has been in the language for some time.

I know RA set goals, shares goals and achieves goals.

Why does DALPA?

MD has promised a "historic? C2015. (True Headings 14-2)

Never done the hip, but have had two shoulders, elbow and wrist surgeries that required much work after.

Do the therapy, especially the "at home" stuff religiously. I was lazy about one shoulder and when I was better one the second, it is night and day how it feels.
