True, but the AE bid results says the following:

JFK/ATL7ER AND 765 PILOTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A RUSSIAN VISA.

That is because both fly to SVO (Moscow) It has nothing to do with KBP.

Kiev is not Russia. You would need it for UUEE (SVO) or ULLI (LED) or any other city we would serve inside the Russian boarders.

Totally - the Ukraine is weak!

YouTube - Ukraine is game to you!?

Scoop :)

LED has been talked about for some time. When we actually hit the execute button is anyone's guess.

No soup for me.

If anyone knows a good commuter hotel in ATL, please PM me.

PM only please, never know what pressholes are lurking.

Looks like I might be stuck there while Ida rolls over the Gulf Coast.

MOAB! (Mother of All Bids)... It appears that it is going to be a very big bid that will probably encompass most fleets and bases. Now that was last weeks plan, so it can change this week:D ...The exact details are not widely known, so we will let them leak out accordingly.... Looks like a early to mid December AE for everyone. SOC will be announced before the end of the year.

First of all, can there actually be a bid across pre-merger lines before SOC? I assume the answer is "probably yes", but it seems to me that it would be strange to have awards without SOC in hand.

Second, I thought the philosophy was rumored to be "small AE's, lots of deadheading" initially, until they get fleets where they want them, etc. Is this MOAB a change of plans? Or does it rely on some new concession, or some new LOA, to change the bid/award/conversion process?

I didn't think the company wanted to, or could, let loose a very big bid, because I didn't think they would like the results. Conversely, I thought they couldn't easily have displacements, without getting substantial "cascades" throughout the system. Now, ACL makes it sounds is if they're (in effect) going to just re-bid the system by opening everything up.

If anyone has any background on this apparent change of plans, I'd love to hear it.

Just reporting what I am told.

It appeared that they wanted to sharp-shoot the aircraft movement over the last few quarters, and now it seems we are back where we started.

You are making a few assumptions on timing of a bid and SOC. I think that it is safe to say that they will have SOC and or know the exact date it will be given when a bid is put out.
I am not inferring a system wide bid, but I am sure they could do that.

The exact verbiage that was used when I asked was, a MOAB that should cover MOST seats, bases and airplanes. Those are the exact words, sir. All of this started out with the exact words of, "Well this bid is going to be bigger than initially planned." That is a quote, and a direct one at that. We have progressed beyond that, to a bigger and bigger bid.

Now as you and I both know this will change 10 times prior to its posting.
My advice is to call crew resources and ask. If they have time they will tell ya what the plan of the day is.

Maybe the MOAB will have shortages in MOST seats, bases and airplanes.

Wouldn't that be nice. :(

Got an email from the big wig chain today that confirmed that (right now) the bid is planned in december and will close after SOC.
