Denny,
One more HSA question. I want to max it out and have Delta health rewards of 550 and contribution of 250(just me and my son). Do I deduct the 800 from the 6650 for my annual election or just elect 6650 and they will do the cyphering.

The way I read it, they want you to subtract the 800 from the 6650 and make that your annual election. That being said, I just did it for the max and will figure it out when I file in 2016. (I'm lazy):)

I fly the 717. I agree with ftb, when you hear 10 feet don't do anything. If you flare then you just drive the back wheels into their pavement. Another issue is we are all so scared about landing distance and heating up the brakes that we as a fleet are More concerned with getting her on the ground and stopped without using brakes. Also the auto throttles come back at a nice slow pace but if you try and get the plane to touch down early in the zone you lower the nose and speed up. Then you float thru the zone and end up not being able to hold the flare at ten feet.
Overall great plane excellent for the missions it is on

Retard at 30-20 feet and below 10 feet to go not only release flare back pressure but pitch forward slightly... I've flown with many DC9 guys and this what I've been told. It works about 50% of the time

Way too many notices of Delta Pilots passing lately. Blessings on the families as we enter this holiday season.

That being the case, it flies much like the DC-9-15, only mo' betta.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Take care everyone.

Flew with a brand new guy on his first OE leg the other day, on JS. Felt bad to be back there, but I tried to come in and sit at D5 and not say a word. Guy was an RJ capt, did good, but the poor bugger had to go around on base. Approach kept him high, told him 9 miles out for final, then shifted his order and turned him base to final abeam FAF, way high. LCP asked for vectors back around as soon as we rolled out on base, waaay high, and they just 360'd us basically.
Anyways, felt bad for the guy--he did quite well, and it really was a set up. Solvable with gear on DW, delay the turn in slightly and low bank maybe, but not by a poor guy on his first Delta approach/landing ever. Well, first in that jet (RJ guys are flying Delta jets and pax yada yada I know heh).

Great to see new guys hitting the line though!

Too true. BTW, anyone else notice how SD's recent emails only mention keeping the pilot's family in your thoughts? Seems he used to ask for you to keep them in your prayers as well. Did the PC Police give him a citation?
