Unfortunately for them, it appears that American Pilots, like their Flight Attendants, agreed to an arbitration clause that caps maximum gains in a new contract BELOW what the company is offering. It appears the arbitrators in both cases will NOT be able to get the unions more, even if they want to. Setting yourself up for a TA you essentially can't vote down seems like an incredibly dumb move by labor. Not coming up with a contract that will let labor walk with their head held high, seems like a pretty stupid move by Parker. I think he got more than he bargained for with the F/A's. I doubt he wanted that TA to fail, because he's going to pay dearly for the difference between the TA, and the arbitrated contract, in terms of service levels.
American Pilots Union Said It Will Counter Management?s Contract Proposal Friday - WSJ - WSJ This appears to mean that American pilots can't leapfrog us, and provide leverage for us. The only saving grace is that their proposal may have some sort of adjustment mechanism to bring them up to our rate if we leapfrog them. Regardless, Delta is in a position to create a huge contrast between employment at Delta, where employees are fully vested in the day-to-day success of the company, and AMR, where their personal compensation doesn't vary accordingly. The potential exists, if RA is willing to offer a strong contract, to ensure lasting labor peace with us, keep unions at bay for the F/A's, and permanently anger the bride at American, just as the honeymoon was coming to an abrupt end. |

Usually, heck YES! Most of what the Dems spew from their mealy pie-holes is LIES, so who are ya gonna believe? A democrat sees what he believes.... A republican believes what he sees.... A democrat is just a republican who hasn't been mugged yet! carry on.....;-0 |
HVAC Referral Needed
Newnan, Peachtree City area.
I need a referral for a good HVAC company in the Newnan area. I have a company that I have been using for many years. They are recommending a completely new system which will cost a lot of money. It's an old house with a lot of quirks. I need a second opinion. Thanks. |

Yes. The question is: Why? Do we brief what we go-around for on every trip?

Gunship don't take it personal. Labeling me liberal is unfair. ( we have not even had a beer yet! ) My issue with fox is the ever hypocritical positions. They like government when it suits them and bad mouths it when it does not match their interests. The problem with MSNBC is they just want everything and the rest of us to pay for it. American news is trash, USA today is not even worthy of toilet paper (sans the sudoku :D).

No doubt. With 30 gates you can just imagine how many Heavy JV aircraft DAL could put our passengers on. :D

Yup. RA also stated he wanted to build a large 'base' (not crew base) in Beijing and Seoul. So I'd expect many of those gates to have China Southern and KAL heavies parked there. Just like the AF/KLM hubs, we'll fly some flights in and out but all the connection traffic will be on their metal. That's the plan after they close NRT. We won't need any more heavies than we have now, just replacements for the 767's.
