Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Does Delta still have the 787 orders from NWA days?

I looked into that a couple years ago but couldn't justify the monthly charge they wanted. With all of the free wi-fi out there I just manage to get by with my iphone in the rare moments where I don't have wi-fi for my ipad. How much is the monthly ipad cellular premium these days? I haven't checked for a while.
Its much more user friendly than any iPhone for surfing, and vastly superior for videos, games, typing anything more than a quick txt omg etc. Costs the same or less too. The only downside is you have to forgoe the L&G gee whiz $800 smart phone every year. Which can be hard, as they are very cool no doubt.
You still paid almost $800 for the phone. Its entirely possible that part of that price was masked by the reduction in your plan cost by revamping your plan. They've changed the way they "subsidized" the plans by lowering many plans across the board and then re-upping the price to include the phone finance charges. If you would have kept your old paid for phone and reworked your plan like you did, you would have likely seen even greater savings over the coming 2 year period (and beyond). How much more? About $750 minus $299.
There is no way around it. They are almost 800 dollar phones no matter how you move the ball under the cups.

I think you misread my post. They lowered my monthly plan and I was only out of pocket for the $299 + $40. I would not have been entitled to any future plan savings so I don't know how you can assume that. My carrier has never lowered my bill in the past for no reason. I also got $300 for my old iphone 5 on Craigs List. It was a win win since I got the upgrade and my future monthly bill reduced compared to what it was before.
You paid $750 for your new phone any way you slice it, over and above the cost of keeping your old phone and migrating to the exact same plan you just migrated to. Actually $790 if they charged you a $40 fee to do it. If you don't make any changes, in 12-24 months (depending on carrier and plan) your monthly bill should automatically decrease $20-40/month when you are done paying off your phone.
They are incredibly crafty at this. If you wanted to, you could have bought your phone outright for $750 and your monthly bill would be lower. But they don't tell you that because doing so would reveal the true cost of your phone, which would likely result in lower phone sales. Very few people realize they are paying almost $800 for an iPhone 6, so you are not alone.

That's because they rolled it into your bill. Older plans were higher so they could "subsidize" (not really what it was but that's what people call it). If you brought your own paid for phone to the exact same plan you have now, you'd be paying less per month. How much less? $750 minus the $199 you paid minus the $199 you got in trade. Under your current plan you are essentially financing $349 in additional cost for your new phone over 12-24 months (depending on plan etc) for a total cost of $750, minus the $199 they gave you for your trade in of course.
Of course they don't lower your bill for no reason. You constantly have to shop them and call and request changes when they come up with better plans.

I would guess any fleet without very many hulls would be prime for replacement.

Speaking of phones and planes...
"Think of it this way: Delta has been the guy trying to buy used iPhone 4Ss on ebay for $80.00 when others are forking over hundreds on the iPhone 6."
