Some Youtube for a little break between the point-counterpoint taking place.
I don't know what it is, but she's got that certain somethings that makes her stand out. |

IMHO, that's the big picture. We should not be fighting just to fight. I thought you were a scope hawk. What changed that? Just out of curiosity, is there anything the MEC administration and/or NC can do that would result in some ball-busting by you? |

Unbelievable. Tell you what, look through ANY document describing ALPA's rules and point out where it describes a TA as a "Done Deal." Face palm.
You've clearly misread their update. If you've even read it at all. It appears to me you're just reprinting what the MEC administration's interpretation of what C20 thinks. As a student of the Bucking Bar school of business, I would run to the car dealer with a $2,000 check while yelling: "My car dealer speaks for me!" There were no "errors" in the first FAR 117 TA Bar. Yet the membership outcry over CDO's forced the reps to send the negotiators back to the table. Proof that TA's aren't and have NEVER BEEN thought of by anyone as a "done deal." This is an all new concept for TA's being proffered by this MEC administration and now strongly touted by you. This is exactly why the MEC administration now finds it necessary to withhold information until after the TA's approval. They will no longer tolerate what happened with FAR 117. Carl Regarding the handling of this TA, every Delta pilot should be outraged. It's incomprehensible how these guys behave. I see a resurgence of DPA or something other than ALPA as the effects of impotent JV agreements unilaterally erode wide body flying for Delta pilots. |

Should we follow the established process, or run amok?
We elected our Reps. We have known the VA TA was being worked on for a year and have had ample opportunity to provide input. The Reps directed the negotiators and the negotiators negotiated the language which is being considered by our MEC. We have no reason to believe the MEC is (or has authority to) make post agreement modifications to the language. This isn't a bill in Congress. It is negotiation with management. Do you not trust that your Reps and your MEC, who are all line pilots, fought for more wide body flying? Did you fail to notice Delta's wide body RFP was decided in a way that provides growth just about the same instant an agreement was reached on the TA? I have no idea if any of these facts correlate and outside of a properly small group of people who have access to Delta's strategic business plan, none of us knows. I'd love to have an intelligent debate on the merits of this agreement, but neither of us has the data, yet. The Negotiating Committee will eventually publish a notepad document. Until we read that document there is a lot of factual data we just don't yet have. What we do know is that we elected the best candidates and we all agree on wide body protection and growth. We know that management respects a negotiating team who has the full support of their pilots. The Dude supports his MEC and negotiators. It is in our mutual best interest to empower our MEC. It appears you are saying you do not support membership ratification. If that is true you must not have been here for POS96. I didn't vote for my reps. One of them in particular is more interested in being an ALPA lifer than representing my interests. While I "trust" them, I don't trust them blindly. When they put out a council update and mention there is a special MEC meeting coming up but don't bother to mention it is to vote on a significant TA to section 1, I trust them even less. If you are going to put out an update to keep your constituents "informed", for the life of me I can't figure out why they would leave that little tidbit out. Was everyone who was interested in the meeting supposed to call them and ask. Come on why didn't they just say they had a TA. Don't you find that the least bit deceptive? You say you would like to have an intelligent debate on the merits of the agreement. What is the point after it is signed into law? I realize alot of what goes on here is pointless "entertainment" [thanks for the car wash by the way :)] but an intelligent debate would indicate a purpose. An "intelligent debate" after its too late to do anything is just a waste of time by people with nothing better to do. Regarding the widebody order, how much of that is actually growth? Bob I hate it when I get sucked into posting here.;) |
When you have a consensus between people like RonRicco or Denny Crane, who are NOT trying to work a political angle, and some of the guys who are always working an angle, something is going very wrong, or very right. Not publishing LOA's is irresponsible and insulting. You guys are correct, IMO.

“The top executives will meet on Dec. 16 when Park visits Delta’s Atlanta headquarters,” said a ranking airport official. “They are highly likely to discuss moving the airline’s Asian hub from Narita to Incheon.” Heads of Incheon Airport, Delta to meet in U.S. When you see retirements, take it with a grain of salt. There won't be any movement. |

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but this is what Anderson does. It's all code share. It's been obvious for a while. In the end, there will be no DAL Pacific lift. We'll fly to Inchon, but every ything else will be KAL.

Any delta dudes or dudettes on Virginia Ave. the next few weeks? Would love to have a spontaneous "Shockerfest"....DW

Carl, you're wasting your time. Buckingbar is first and foremost concerned with impressing the inner circle who has made him feel special.
To me, that's the more interesting question. Carl |
