They used a hedge fund for fuel hedging? Wow!

Not up on the mechanics but I think you get the idea.:)

If we flew our planes as successfully as Delta hedges fuel, I can assume we be practicing ditching quite often in the simulator.

Actually, I think they had about three straight years of having the lowest fuel cost amongst the majors. Everyone just notices the quarter or two when they are higher. Sort of like no one notices all the good landings it's just when I clank one on that they make a comment.

If I actually ever made a bad landing that is. I deny everything.

any chance one of you guys/gals could look up the NRT-MSP flights on the 7th/8th and let me know what the loads look like? specifically which one has the higher probability of getting business while jumpseating? also how many non revs there are?

Just heard a leak from a Union guy. TA will include:

5% Pay raise based on flying 20% more.

That's all I could get out of him.

If it's a rumor based on getting us to fly more than we are already flying, don't be skeptical.

Delta has more than enough money. They do not have more then enough pilots.

I'd be surprised if this new TA doesn't reflect that.

Fully expect to be asked to fly more. But I don't buy that only a 5 percent raise would have been accepted as the best they could negotiate 6 months before the amenable date - call me an optimist. Sounds like trying to lower expectations so 9% sounds more palatable (with 20-40% being my personal expectation depending on other variables).

Don't have more than enough pilots? OC Miller's news letter released today just stated hiring was slowing down...only 300 more for the rest of 2015, which is less than 50/mo.

Crew resources news letter just said their need for hiring is slowing down too...

If Delta needs more pilots, why the decision to slow down?

I bet the TA sold the farm on productivity.

What happened to more money AND more time off?????
