I frequently JS on Horizon, always listed at the gate in SEA, but list at the counter in smaller domiciles to avoid overwhelming gate agents. I’ve noticed that they seem to accept signups prior to the 1 hour prior advertised time, so the counters likely your best bet.

Ohhh you just missed the Walla Walla sweets! Best onions around!

Thanks everyone for the replies!:) Sounds like it’s the same as it used to be... I hear the ALW-SEA flights are usually very full. Gonna try one and if that doesn’t fly, I’ll head over to PSC and try there. There are quite a few more flights to SEA from there. Trying to save my sister some time by going out of Walla Walla.

Since I don’t commute anymore I’ve kinda let my jumpseating skills fall by the wayside. Thanks again fellas! :)

Oh! And full of luv, trust me, I didn’t miss out on those!

I have got a 365 day block problem in which I am limited to 48 block hours in December.

I'm assuming that I should bid a reserve line to get the guarantee or I'll be limited to somewhere around 48 hours plus whatever credit there is.

I would try to group my x days in the holidays with the exception of three or four earlier in the month spaced to break up availability.

Are my assumptions right and/or does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks in advance.

I think they are..... You definitely should bid reserve and get the guarantee. Depending on how senior in category you are and whether you want Xmas off, do exactly as you describe. You are doing exactly what I would try and do.

how do you even block an average of 86.5 hours a month the first 11 months of the year?

A word of caution/reminder: the FAR 117 rules are Rolling rules. Check each day of December and make sure that you aren't 'dropping time' from last December. Otherwise you may not actually be timing out the way we did under 121 and you may hose yourself.

It's month by month for the 1000 hour rule.

For what?

FAR 117: A flightcrew member is also limited to 1,000 hours in any 365 consecutive day period. This is a rolling 365 days and replaces the 1,000 hours in a calendar year limit.

I stand corrected. It sounds like the contract needs to be amended as it functions month to month.
