In addition, conversion is by category. So somebody junior to you in another base could convert before you but you're not pay protected since each base is its own category.

Seniority really does not come into play when building your schedule as an SLI. It of course does come into play during your fly months. You get six off days you can place where ever you like during your SLI month; plus you have about 6 periods you can ask to have off as well....
