Seniority really does not come into play when building your schedule as an SLI. It of course does come into play during your fly months. You get six off days you can place where ever you like during your SLI month; plus you have about 6 periods you can ask to have off as well....
Also, could any commuter SLI's say what their typical month looks like? |
Not sure why anyone would commute for that job. Live in a crash pad and lose all your per diem in order to actually have to work for a living?
A great deal if you live in ATL, though. |
Wearing ur ip nametag to happy hour is a chick magnet?

After listening to how things work down there, I'm not sure why anyone would ever commute to that job. Now if they gave positive space to/from and provided hotels, maybe...

You get both when offsite. So commuters will find that helpful.
Im wondring if 6 golden day picks mean you are hard scheduled 24 days? Wud think not...at least not for straight pay. Also im thinking there are p2p swaps and other options on days off. Family issues, its a gateway opportunity, it makes u a better line pilot (usually haha) its something different to do in a 30yr career and resume enhancing quals....are some of the good reasons for working there. Not to mention reduced UV exposure and increased longevity...:) |

Only on qualified ga income. If you work off site in non tax state its not ga income. or if u rotate for line flying to domicile othr than atl...in which case you revert to rla state tax liability and again its not qualified ga income.

Idk wat % of ip group are commuters.
For the ip group that lives in ga....well, they will be paying ga taxes no matter if they are based in atl or any other domicile. So it very well may be 95% will be paying ga taxes anyways. Training dept or not :) Plus as an ip...when a jr pilot converts you get a pay raise without having to bid it...or go to school. Up to the ip category pay cap. As a fyi...in a previous busy time with off site training in a 36mo period i spent only 9mos working in atl. |
