Sailingfun, you are a world-class expectation manager. Bravo.

I seem to remember you telling everyone we could expect nothing but gloom and disaster from contract 2012. Where are all those furloughs you assured us were coming?

I don't remember anyone predicting furloughs from C2012...

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It was nice to get away for a few days. :)

It's been awhile since I've posted here, but here it goes.

One quality of life contract improvement that should cost us almost nil would be travel during an awarded vacation period. How about one round trip PS for you and eligible primary pass members traveling with you. Book it within 1 month of travel and if Y class is available, you get it.

This crap of working for an airline with inaccessible pass travel needs to be addressed. It would be nice to travel on my own airline with my family once a year without having to pay for a 75% ticket.

The problem is we would probably negotiate it for all the employees like profit sharing or crew meals (remember what those were).

BD

What are you willing to give up to get that?

:D

Anybody got suggestions on best deals on staying at Disney World down in MCO? We're trying to take the kiddos for a couple of days around the middle of January. Probably be a Tuesday thru Friday mid-week event. Thanks!

Anyone read the February bid package "preview"? 5 day domestic trips coming to a category near you. We had them on the DC9 and they were absolutely miserable. I'm sure this has everything to do with them reducing credit due to the 5:15 per day change. No report before noon, and release by 1400 and they have value to commuters, otherwise it's just another hit on our QOL, commuter or not. Unfortunately, I don't see them building them commutable.

Check out vrbo.com

It's a vacation rental site where people go to list their homes/condos for rent. I have found several good deals on logging. Nothing beats staying at a home with a pool and kitchen. Check it out. Vrbo, is short for Vacation Rental Buy Owner.

5-10% of trips seems like a lot for 5-day trips. It should be closer to 0%.

I've flown with lots of North guys who would disagree. The bottom line is that we either need to have 5 day trips in all domestic categories or none of them.

This concept of keeping them in former NW categories but not South ones is getting ridiculous. The merger is years behind us and the 5 year fence is almost history. Are we one airline or not? For what it's worth I don't even like four day trips, much less five, and I hope to avoid them.
