I am willing to give up all my buddyFK passes for a positive space vacation roundtrip every year:)

Okay, where do you see a tally of how many supplemental days you have to bid with one or more of your vacations? Thanks for any help.

Denny

Kind of a simple question. Can I put in a green slip for the entire bid period? (then, let the schedulers figure it out, deconflict, etc.)

I did that and got a call from scheduling asking me to remove it because it wasn't legal and was messing them up. So yes you could have it up there, but if you want to be courteous then take it down over days that aren't legal I.e. A PD day.

I've been putting in GS and GSWC from 1-30 for years and have never had a problem.

Same here... There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

If you don't want to go flying, don't answer the phone. :)

Does the company need our permission not to build 5 day trips? If they approached us, what did they want in return?

From the latest company info, it sounds like 5 day trips help to limit credit. Now sick calls could be a player as this could drive up total sick time.

5 day trips back then often increased credit. It would more then likely possible to have made a 4 day limit contractual since it was a company want. The credit issue now works in reverse.

I was bashed on this forum for even suggesting such a thing as it would take seats away from someone trying to get to work. I guess if your still an active employee it is ok. Something for those of you retiring soon to think about.

Maddog,
What about a S2's that is useable with a retirement date as your DOH?

And no, I'm not even close to retirement so it's not self serving.

If this was recent we need to get the schedulers name and send it to the union. There is nothing illegal in doing that and nothing that would mess them up. When they have to cover a trip same or next day which is all green slips they pull availability for that trip. The computer only lists pilots who are legal and available.
What they don't like but is still legal is a pilot who puts in a full month GS and never answers the phone. On a busy day they might have to call that pilot a dozen times for each trip that comes into open time. Drives them nuts because they know he is not going to answer but they still have to call both numbers and wait 10 minutes before moving on.

Hey guys, trying to PD a 4 day spill over trip that starts jan 30th. Reserve coverage is good on the 30th but the 31st starts the next bid period and obviously the coverage for that isn't available yet. They denied me due to "Capped res days" even though the only res coverage thats known is the 30th of jan and its good. Is this right? Do I have to wait for feb schedules to be out before I can PD a spill over? Thanks

This was a few months ago. I don't remember the schedulers name or if she even said her name, I didn't answer the phone, they just said it in a voicemail. I wonder if there are issues with the automated stuff if it is a PD rather than a violation because I have noticed I always have to call for the noon release for short call if I have a PD the next day.
