I haven't tried to non rev since I retired. When you have to be somewhere (Hotel Res at a resort in the BVI, etc) you can't afford not get there. Hence, buy a real ticket. I guess my point is, your non rev priority as a retiree is basically worthless. Rant over. Happy New Year to all

For those of you who are interested/bored enough... the FEB bid packages are out via the backdoor method. Let the wailing begin : )

So if they need someone ASAP, you get the GS and they hold the flight? Why would anyone ever fill in "min time to report" qualifier?

The costing data shows it was 40 million more then a wash and it's looking like 80 million is going to be closer to reality. To arrive at those numbers they ran the entire previous years bid packages through Carmen using the new rules verses the old rules. They used multiple parameters and rebuilt every rotation from that year with min cost solutions. It took several months.
Making trips with more duty periods then days is very difficult and they will be high credit trips the company hates. Take a look at the posted examples. There will be some but it will be a handful compared to rotations where the daily minimum has a impact. Dropping the DPA was well covered in the publications on the change. |

When awarding a GS or GSWC the Company will attempt to contact the pilot using at least two telephone numbers listed in DBMS, 30 b. allow a pilot in a non-time critical assignment (i.e., a rotation that is scheduled to depart three hours or more after attempted contact) no less than ten minutes to respond from the first attempted contact, and 33 c. afford the pilot accepting the award the reporting time ability of a short call reserve pilot. |
Reserve and yellow slip question. I see a trip in open time at another base, am I allowed to YS for this trip while I'm on an X day? If so, based on the hierarchy in which trips are assigned, do I have a snowball's chance in hell of getting awarded the trip? Finally, if awarded the trip will I be DH'd and given a hotel the night prior if it is an early show time?
Thanks! |

Now, scheduling may decide that you are the best reserve to cover that trip (or part of that trip) in another base. If they do that, the trip that you are assigned will be in your base, with scheduled DH each way and hotels (if necessary) already set up. |
