Surprised that no one else has commented, given Delta's unique position as the last airline in the free world continuing the effort to redesign, fix, or come up with a work around to operate Douglas equipment. Apparently we have competition!
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...v7qotf7p1x.jpg The Chinese used Douglas old trunkliner tooling and built a DC-9-10, or is this a -32, or is it a MD95-ne717-CRJ900? After replacing the wing, avionics, brakes, engines and who knows what else they have created a performance limited airplane that carries fewer people than a CRJ and weighs 25,000lbs more with half the range. I wish them luck. It isn't easy fixing Douglas stuff. |

Avionics I assume are North Korean rip offs of russian ripoffs of 1970's general dynamics stuff. I wonder if a slightly tweaked microsoft paperclip helper pops up when something breaks? |
