Yes, very interesting things. Especially that bold one.

I believe the Pilots get 1/3 of that (1/3 of the $650M). You would have to go back and find last year's number to see what that translates to, as a % of our total pay.

The number I keep seeing thrown around is about 16% of your W2 total, (for pilots) minus the 5% we already got, so on Valentine's Day 2015, we should see about 10-11% as a PS payout.

10% is an easy number to figure, even for you mathematically challenged guys, and be sure you tip your hat to Uncle Sam by paying the AMT when you do your income taxes, this year and next.

What would be sweet is if we could put ALL of it, tax deferred, into our retirement funding, rather than paying 35% of it back to Uncle, but since the cap is so low, you WILL be paying for someone else's Obama Phone.

Any way to make this window bigger so I can see what I am doing. Serious responses only, this means you Timbo.

Thanks
Haven't seen that yet. Once you get into the DA, go to the tools menu and click sync. I think that will get you to the sync box you are seeing so you'll know what the options are. Once you have synced data once, you shouldn't have to do it again. You can also check the settings under the tools menu. You can manually import the configuration file by using the Browse button. After syncing, under settings it should eventually say:
ALC: DAL
Data Server: deltapilotbids.delta.com
I've also noticed that the new version takes A LOT longer to load, sync and create the home page. Much longer than the old version. Another IT improvement I guess.

RA stated during the investor day that he wanted to have the pilot contract done before it expired.

I've also heard that we are trying to move the 321 deliveries up to this year but aren't having much luck.

Agreed. Let's have eachother's backs. While we've hired over 1000 so far, roughly only 600ish are all the way through and on the line. Divide that up over all our bases and planes etc and we have a LOT of CA's that haven't flown with a "new hire" in 6+, or in some cases almost 15 years.

One of the hardest things to do is to slow your routine. Nothing makes a high time pilot bust blood vessles in their head faster than going a mile or two past the marker on downwind on a visual. Its OK (and safer) to walk it back to their speed sometimes. Its the only way they are going to learn. They are new, under a lot of pressure and told they are on probation every 10 minutes. They have to answer to their negative reports with formal carpet dance appointments. No one should sandbag someone by "writing them up" behind their backs in any case.

And FTB, you nearly moved up a number just now! I've got a bad head/chest cold going on right now, and then I started reading your earlier DA explanation post.

When I got to the "Man Spread" I lost it. I started laughing so hard that I started coughing up crud, but then I couldn't get a breath in, thought I was going to die.

Not bad enough I can't go down an escalator without first pausing to look behind me, now I'm not even safe at home on my couch! You F/O's are a sneaky bunch of bastages!

FTB takes out his first Captain.

The footprint of the trip that spills into Feb will count as reserve days. All of the credit from the trip will go against your reserve guarantee- in other words, if there is very little flying on the days in Jan, you are working those days at a very steep discount compared to what you would earn in Jan if the Jan days blocked 5:15 or if the trip ended in Jan, or if the trip had no credit.

It basically is a very bad deal. Happened to me in Nov/Dec. Avoid it or swap trips.
