As I look at the Feb schedule, lots of things have changed (largely for the better, IMO & specific to my situation). I also see several situations that make me wonder the following:

Will PBS award a bid for two pairings that, if combined into a single pairing would be legal, but as two separate pairings would not be legal (not enough rest between)?

For example: 2-day trip blocks in at 1000L after a 0730 report to a one-leg duty period; 3-day trip checks-in at 1200L for a one-leg duty period blocking in 1500L. Obviously <10 hours between them (1030 - 1200 = 1.5 hours), so not legal rest. However, plenty of 4-day trips have a 3-hour sit in between two legs for an 8-hour duty day, as this would be if you put the two trips together. Will PBS allow this (in effect "building" a 4-day out of a 2+3 day), or would one or the other trip be denied for legal rest once the first trip is added?

You can do this by using the Followed By feature. Trip A followed by trip B. Works as long as the time off and hours are legal. You need the legal rest in between the trips...as though it were a short layover.

PBS time between trips is bigger than the FAR 117 minumums. Numbers are posted in the gouge. Domestic it's 12 hrs. minimum release to report.

I heard another story about a guy who would wear black denim jeans to work. I don't think he got fired, but had to buy real pants.

Jeez, I wore black Shepler's for years, good thing I flew night bombers.....

He had a reason, but I don't know if I'd characterize it as good.

I think you already know the answer to this but NO!

That's what I figured, true enough.... But, I had to ask, since at my previous airline, such a thing could happen--which I found out the hard way.

Understood on both these points. I wondered if PBS would somehow combine the trips (i.e., no "rest" involved).

Thanks for the replies....
