Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I'm certainly not trying to make waves. Happy as hell to be in the spot I'm in looking at a long and happy life with Delta. I'm just a bit of a data junkie, and as I make major life changes and decisions for my family and I, I'd like to have all the facts on the table.

I thought the exact same thing about my first airline and NWA. Was furloughed from the first and came close to losing it all in bankruptcy at NWA. Both were wildly profitable before the disaster.

Your long and happy life will be with your family. This is just a job. Jobs come and go.

Seems to me that if we monetize the PS, that would put our pay rates way above AA (and prob not as high as we would like them). Why not leave the PS as a BONUS and move our PAY rates up above AA as industry leading, just as they always have been?

Yet another great point.

WS and the co don't want to see our pay rates so far above the industry avg. AA not getting PS and getting a large pay rate increase is the perfect scenario for us NOT to monetize our PS.

Also, the NMB doesn't want our pay RATES to get too far ahead. But unlike what others have asserted here, the NMB will not be able to quantify profit sharing in future contractual years. They will not even be able to factor it in due to the possibility it could always be zero. Monetizing one penny of PS actually hurts our cause.

All we need for ALPA to do is draw the line and say PS is a bonus and we need our pay rates industry leading.

They won't Mark. All the evidence is pointing toward DALPA/management monetizing PS, and DALPA is already trying to shape opinion to that end. What we really need is 51% of Delta pilots to vote NO on that kind of a TA even with DALPA telling you the world will END if you don't vote yes.

United still has profit sharing very similar to us. Maybe that will help us. We are a whole different airline than American. Hell, they still have 3 seniority lists. We should easily be able to make their hourly rates and keep profit sharing. I agree that th signs point to monetizing profit sharing again though.

Don't forget to subtract ALPA dues from your profit sharing.

Now that's funny right there.

Is this how you treat your FO's too?

All these "elder statesmen" captains we have refer to us as Copilots as if they were still flying their bombers or tankers. If they were a single seat person then sometimes they ignore you completely. Funny when you're PM and you do the preflight checks and then watch the Capt do the same exact preflight checks. I tested the radar and the PWS went off. We laughed about it. Not 2 min later he checked the radar and it went off again. I laughed even harder.

Would being referred to as Co-captain or Co-commander be better?
