Well I doubt anyone in the "company" has ever had a sinus block descending though 18,000. I have, in a T-38 in UPT. Not like we could hold and descend slowly in that plane. If felt like a little man was inside my head with an ice pick and he wanted out real bad.

Did you see the Chunk o' Change ALPA took from your Profit Sharing Check? It doesn't show up in the Profit Sharing Paycheck Detail... look under your regular check... then sit down...DALPA has a vested interest in huge profits, I think.

About what income level does AMT kick in? I've never hit it before and have no idea how close I am.

Are there any/many tax strategies to avoid or mitigate it?

Thanks, Erik

Reading RA's statement on DLnet, concerning distribution of PS, it seems like he is saying it would be crazy for a group to give up PS in exchange for a raise.

That can't be, we have been assured by this forum over and over again that the company is coming after profit sharing big time!

There's more than one "AMT" this year.

Watch out especially if your spouse works. The "additional medicare tax" under Obamacare could bite hard because Delta only withheld the tax based on one income.
If you look at your 12/31/14 pay stub it appears as "Med Surtax" on amounts over $200k.

I owed $50 bucks in AMT for tax year 2013 with total income just a bit north of 190K, so that's a pretty good wag for where it kicks in.

ALPA has a vested interest in increasing pilot compensation, whether it be through wages or PS. 1.9% is 1.9%.
