Unless it's not the company pushing for it. I mean with 12500 pilots we have 14000 ideas on how we should be paid. Maybe it's from our side, after all who calls PS at risk pay anyways?

I call PS a concession.
Doesn't mean you're not entitled to discuss what the combined group should do with common equities, including the PS, going forward. If you want to trade the PS, knock yourself out: you're entitled. But spare us the disparaging labels, and the attendant insult. |

I really hope when we go into negotiations DALPA calls it at risk pay. The company will try and call it compensation and use it to keep our rates lower. When your addressing the NMB what would you call it?

I am new to this, but I thought that once you answered your phone you were committed to taking a green slip and the commute was on you.
A lot of good information has already been posted on this so I was not sure if the original poster was referring to an Out Of Base Green-slip or just commuting to his base. This makes a difference, an OOBGS gives you a lot more leverage with schedules - if they want you there they will provide positive space. Scoop |

Again, clear goals spelled out so everybody is on the same page....and publish the survey results. This creates unity as opposed to what we have here....the insiders dropping crumbs which seem to hint going the wrong direction while the membership tries to make sense of it and is berated by guys like you from the union for doing so. |

It's actually a concession offset. An offset against concessions you didn't have to make, since you weren't working for Delta at the time. One of the items being offset, was the loss of a pension. Don't be surprised if you don't get too much sympathy from the people who had to purchase the PS WITH concessions.

Is that you?? Because stating that PS was payment is a mischaracterization. PS was the stencil of a COME bet on the Crap Table. A simple statement that we all have given waaaaaay too much to the Church to go unfulfilled should the "Profit" ever make a come back. We're all in this together brother. |

How about we stop worrying about what the NMB thinks too!!! This isn't directed at you sailing, but on my list of tired cop-outs is this idea that we can't ask for too much because the NMB will get angry with us. Let's hit them with some data about how far behind our industry is, in terms of pay, from where we were in buying power in the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and today. To offset the argument that we will make our company less competitive if they have to pay us too much more than our peers, let's put the biggest pay raises a little later in the contract where UAL and AMR will be in negotiations for their next contract. That way, while Delta might be at a pilot cost disadvantage for a short while, the other majors will be close behind in pattern bargaining off of our contract. I've got many more solutions to the Worlds problems tonight, I found a 6 pack of Torpedo's at my grocery store tonight and thought I'd give it a try. Thank God for the profit sharing check, $9.99 for a six pack is a little steep for my blood, but it is a solid beer. I'm going to stop posting until my BAC is at a more reasonable level. Have a great weekend guys and girls, E |
