I thought, shooting from the hip, that they were disbanded immediately after Baghdad fell. I think Rumsfeld said in hindsight they should have kept the Iraqi army intact.

It was actually the retired general who was initially put in charge that wanted to keep the Iraqi army intact and pay them. The suit that shortly came later quickly disbanded it. It's a tough call actually. However, in the end disbanding the army caused multitudes of problems which may or may not have materialized.

What they should have done is put THE 80ktsclamp super moderator in charge. NewK would've been to thoughtful (smiley) and Timbo would've just drank all the beer and chased burkas.

I heard they had a meeting with these guys, and it didn't go so well.

Management has been seeing other people for quite some time now. DALPA's response: "No! We can make it baby!"

They had BEER in Iraq?? WHERE??

That would have solved a lot of problems, no doubt!

You wonder why all those ISIS guys are so pizzed off at us?

It's because Beer is not allowed in their world.

How does the company get a pilot out to where you are to cover the flight for you?

Let the Capt know you banged out too, so he has a fighting chance at getting things arranged.
^^^ That.

To further answer your question Bronco you call crew tracking. There is someone that will handle it. I've done it twice and if I'm not mistaken there is even a prompt for mid rotation sick calls. Maybe I'm wrong.

I've had it twice, both for bad food at airports. One was Buffalo, actually the overnight hotel, and the other was at the GRR airport. I mean I went to the overnight hoping things would get better because most of the time it does. In these cases it didn't. In both cases I had 5 leg days the next day and I said I can get the plane back no problem because I am perfectly fine for an hour or two, but I can't go all day like this tomorrow.

I mean it happens. You might feel perfectly fine and then have a ear get blocked up on landing and not be able to clear it. You're in no shape to fly. You might not even be able to deadhead home. I've seen stuff like that and I've even heard the company let a guy stay in a hotel for two days to let him recover to the point he could deadhead.

You're like our APCF version of Winston Churchill. I mean your speech before a joint session of congress would be... spectacular.
