So our JV partner Virgin Australia's flight attendants lost their fight over getting $7.63/hour (183.32/day) for their Los Angeles layover and will have to settle for the paltry rate of $6.25/hour per diem ($150/day), yes that's in US Dollars.
Virgin Australia crew lose pillow fight over allowances at LA hotels
Me thinks at least our international perdiem rate might need a new look....
I'd favor going with the published GSA per diem rates for every layover city...
Cheers

^^^ That.
To further answer your question Bronco you call crew tracking. There is someone that will handle it. I've done it twice and if I'm not mistaken there is even a prompt for mid rotation sick calls. Maybe I'm wrong.
I've had it twice, both for bad food at airports. One was Buffalo, actually the overnight hotel, and the other was at the GRR airport. I mean I went to the overnight hoping things would get better because most of the time it does. In these cases it didn't. In both cases I had 5 leg days the next day and I said I can get the plane back no problem because I am perfectly fine for an hour or two, but I can't go all day like this tomorrow.
I mean it happens. You might feel perfectly fine and then have a ear get blocked up on landing and not be able to clear it. You're in no shape to fly. You might not even be able to deadhead home. I've seen stuff like that and I've even heard the company let a guy stay in a hotel for two days to let him recover to the point he could deadhead.

Quick reroute question. The other day one of my turns cancelled and I was rerouted into another turn that ended up making me time out for the day due to duty time and they had me layover and deadhead the next day back to base on my day off. I got paid the 5:15 for the average daily credit but am I entitled to any reroute pay in addition? So far nothing shows up on my time card, but on my monthly schedule it says RR. Or am I not entitled to anything because of the weather provision in the contract aka out of Delta's control? Who do I need to call if so? Thanks!
Two questions to follow up on this discussion:
1. Do you think that if we had not made the strategic blunder of invading Iraq in 2003 that ISIS would be the threat that it is?
-Do you think that if the US wasn't in a complete state of war weariness due to the previous strategically unnecessary war in Iraq that the president may have the backing of the American public to actually involve US ground forces on a large scale?
Or do you think the president can just commit the entirety of the US Army and Marine Corps without the backing of Congress and the American public?
-If Obama decided to fight ISIS via ground forces, would you be OK with a draft that would potentially force YOUR children to serve as foot soldiers? Not a cushy assignment in a cockpit or UAS container, no kidding going out on patrol with hajji trying to kill them. At this point, my answer would be "no way." I'd personally rather give up the moral high ground and resort to WWII fire-bomb tactics. Neither is particularly appealing to me though.
Beyond that though, I don't really see why all the animosity towards the president. For any person in that job, there are things they want to do and things they can do. I'm by no means a liberal, nor a fan of every policy of the current administration, but I'd certainly call the rhetoric being spewed a bit "Limbaugh-esque."

To all of it.

If the column at the far right of the line for the affected rotation on your time card shows as CLSD and there is no reroute pay shown further down your time card on the left, I would call the DALPA MEC and ask to speak to one of the scheduling consultants. They will take a look at it and let you know if you are due reroute pay or if you are not and why.

Haha. Yes. No. No I can't. But if I could is post some gifs I saw of that Italian girl on the food network that are from her show. Taken out of context is hilarious, and I'd be banned but loved for posting them.
But to the point, it'd be like arguing this: if Seattle hasn't intercepted Brady in the first quarter of the super bowl then they would have lost their defensive star and would have blown the Patriots out.
Meh. Now if you said if Seattle had handed the ball off on the 1/2 yard line with 30 seconds left they would have won, yes. Very likely.
I think isis was Zarqawi bunch started in 1999,what they would be today who knows but they didn't start after 03 and would have existed and grown anyways. Sadam might have said the enemy of my enemy. .. or maybe gone kaddaffi on us and turned around some, only to be deposed and just like isis did in Libya isis could have done in iraq. Who knows.
Now what would isis be if more recently we he had not announced a withdraw date and then later withdrawed? What would isis be? They're a nasty bunch, and everyone wants to fight them now, which ironically we were doing when they were AQI, but we were considered the bad guys because those were just... freedom fighters, or something. I still find it interesting that American sniper was a hit in... Iraq? What do they know that had them cheering for Chris Kyle in the theater?
At any rate, my concern as I think everyone's is, isn't about a draft and sending our kids over there, it's about them killing our kids at a mall attack here like in Kenya or a wholesale slaughter of kids at a school here as they did in Pakistan recently.
I hope the King of Jordan finds success flying today.

I had the pleasure of going on the "Dakar Diet" on a 110 hour layover. Got sick and well on that one
