Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Since the ALPA PAC guys are out in full force spreading disinformation and hurling personal attacks, I'll just reply to all of them so as not to clog the thread:
ALPA PAC is there to support the election of very far left liberal democrats. ALPA is affiliated with the AFL-CIO which is also a very far left political organization. ALPA PAC's challenge has been how to get money from airline pilots (who are predominantly conservative politically) to reshape the legislative branch into a left wing political construct. ALPA PAC has chosen the method of calling their left wing partisan agenda "Pilot Partisan." Now they've taken it a step further with the claim that they're winning the Export/Import Bank and NAI agenda with their "Pilot Partisan" efforts. The truth is that any progress made has only been because labor's interests just happen to align with the interests of airline management. If not for that, this would already be lost like age 60 and the rest.
I fully support anyone in their desire to send money to back their political ideology. Just know that ALPA PAC dollars primarily support the electing of far left liberal democrats. Check for yourself on their list of non-incumbents they send money to. It is overwhelmingly in favor of far left politicians. If that's your desire, then ALPA PAC is for you.

Profit Sharing is written into the CBA. If the plan is ever terminated it triggers an automatic re-opener to negotiate its replacement.

So a commitment to Profit Sharing is included in the Pilot CBA. But as it stands now its generated through the corporate by laws. As it is to all employees, correct?

Profit Sharing is a persistent remnant of the post bankruptcy concessionary contract. It is itself a concession. You're narrative where profit sharing can only be "conceded" in exchange for pay rates is the formula for failure.
A value can be assigned to almost anything. Further everything has intrinsic (tangible) and implied (foreseeable) value. In my opinion in the next 2-4 weeks both of those values with respect to profit sharing will never be exceeded. With the value of profit sharing so high I would not even consider negotiating it away for ONLY pay rates. But I believe there will never be another time to hand it back to
management with a polite "No Thank You" and add more value to our contract overall.
We could negotiate a contract where we add to already improved contract provisions in Scope, Vacation, Sick, 401K match and Pay Rates without returning Profit Sharing to management.
Or,
We can negotiate a contract where we add even MORE to already improved contract provisions in Scope, Vacation, Sick, 401K match and Pay Rates returning Profit Sharing to management.
Which scenario do you embrace?

I'm happy keeping majority of the contract status quo and focusing strictly on compensation improvements. If everything has a cost associated with it in terms of negotiating capital, why waste that capital on other aspects of the contract.
So I'll ask you again, with all aspects of the contract remaining for the most part status quo, what percentage increase in compensation would, in your mind, justify the elimination of the current PWA profit sharing?
Or very simply, fill in the blanks,
In C2015, if Delta management were to eliminate "at risk" profit sharing altogether, the pilots will immediately receive a __% pay increase begining day one of the new TA term.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Carl, how do you suggest we combat the many threats facing our profession? Do we only choose to engage those politicians that match our own individual ideologies (impossible btw with such a large pilot group)? Or would a better strategy be to attempt to engage wherever an opportunity presents itself to further our careers?
I hear an awful lot of negativity from you, but rarely any solutions.

Carl, We get you don't like anything ALPA including ALPA PAC, but the fact remains ALPA PAC gives to both sides of the aisle to try and protect OUR jobs. You can make it some sort of left wing conspiracy thing if it makes you feel better.
Will the EFB surface tablet run a Microsoft excel 2007 file?
Also, I can't figure out this charging... first the tablet charges and THEN the KB, IF you have the tablet on? What if the sleep/screen saver on tablet has kicked in, does the KB charge?
I keep plugging it in, on, and leaving it, never have reasonable charge. Then when I DO check and see 100% charged, I turn it off and don't touch it, a week later I turn it on and it's 17% charged!! What's happening to the power, how to I get this turd to keep itself charged for a trip?
Thx, sorry such a newb on this but don't have a DVD/CD player right now to watch that training CD they sent me.
THX

A COMMITTMENT to profit sharing is written into the CBA. I mean if you are going to imply I'm lying we should both get the verbiage right. Because in fairness, if the plan is ever terminated its also possible the negotiations would do away with PS in favor of guaranteed pay.
