The last 777 newsletter said no mini bases...probably ever. Marketing was too fluid with equipment swaps and would not commit to a long term piece of equipment tied to a specific routing. So, Dtw and ATL for now with deadheads.

If they don't tie it in, then it's like two ecosystems evolving separately, and you could see the west coast 717's mutate into some horrible, surfer-speak-soul-patch-wearing-tofu-eating-free-love hippyfest, with ties optional and pilots with suntans. Not on my watch. No sir!!

Versus exactly what in Hooterville?

SEA-PHX, SEA-LAX, SEA-LAS

Here's my attempt at base handicap:

LAX 2:1
SLC 2:1.5
SEA 3:1

Place your bets...

Tomorrow is the LAX FLOPs roadshow. I was hoping they would officially announce the new 717 base then, but I don't think it will be officially announced until after the AE is out.

My money is on a nanobase out of SAT which will be announced 1 day after I put down money to move to ATL.

Hasn't been determined yet. Strong forces are pulling both ways. The risk analysis has been complete though.
The FAA should certify the A350 training course in Toulouse about a month from now and then the first Delta guys will go through their training.
FWIW, just heard from a friend who is a 330 APD.

I don't think the other shoe has dropped regarding the west coast 717 operation though. They're gonna want to tie it into the eastern operation, and SLC is the only logical place (hub) within range of any east 717 cities, such as STL, ORD, MSP, MCI, BNA and so on... otherwise...

At the MSP roadshow the crew resources rep said LAX was the front runner and most likely base for 717.

Not picking on you in particular Will, however:

104 hours should not be allowed. It's an abomination.

VS. golfcart-drivin-bad-haircut-wearin-walmart-shoppin-bass-boat-drivin-kool-aid drinkers, of course.

Lighten up folks, it's gonna be a long career if you can't laugh at yourself.

All said in jest.

A completely separate, west coast only operation would be pretty sweet flying. I'm sure it'd go super senior.

Any gouge on when the next AE is dropping?

Also, for if the puppy does come out west soon. (Particularly to LAX)
- It's a short course for current 88 guys? 5 ish days?
- And does that then incur the full 2 year seat lock, or is it a 9 month one like the 7ER to 765 is?

Thanks in advance!

A category is considered new for 60 days since the date of the first opportunity for the first conversion. It is found in the definitions of Section 22. It is currently shown as Section 22 A.15. although there appears to be a formatting snafu in my latest version of the live contract and it is blended in with the definition of "Narrowbody".

Last thing I saw was the next AE will be late Feb to early March. Your guess is as good as mine on when it will really be.

Maddog to Madpuppy is a short course, but it does incur the full 2 year category freeze.

Except that he didn't try to get 104:17. He had 90 hours....14:17 of which was re-route for which he got double pay...which should be AT LEAST double pay given the fact that he was forced to fly something he didn't bid...

I get your point, but it doesn't apply to re-route pay. Besides, if you want to complain about guys getting paid too many hours/month, 104:17 doesn't hold a candle to what a lot of "players" are able to generate.
