just trying to get a nook or kindle app on efb really...thought personal profile would be where to do it. is there an efb knowledgebank somewhere for me to read?

In the multi-page setup guide that came with the surface, there was a default password listed. If you're thrown that away, you can get it on DeltaNet/Electronic Flight Bag/Surface Tablet/Setup Instruction & Personal Profile setup - it's on page 6.

After you setup your personal profile, go to the Windows Store to download free apps, there is a free Kindle app.

Which seems like an answer they can give to anyone who's outside the top 15 in category.

No, doesn't sound like a job for a ALPA rep....maybe someone on the staff who doesn't fly and has an ALPA retirement, but more likely you just have to live with it.

You don't have to live with it at all. DALPA has two excellent people on staff who research these issues. They are busy and it can take a few days but they do a outstanding job. The company has granted them the same level of access that a crew scheduler has in the computer system. They can research every step taken and determine if you or another pilot should have been paid and insure that has happened. 1 800 USA ALPA and ask for contract admin.

thanks iaflyer! I'm into my "personal account" now, and on the store...
NOW I just have to figure out how to get nook or kindle downloaded WITHOUT being forced to create a Microsoft Account and let them "merge" my existing nook and kindle accounts with it!
GAH... I really WANT to try to like this efb, but they make it sooooo hard...

I think that has something to do with the pre-vertness of the Seattle and New York crews versus the pre-verted nature of the operation in LAX. Really Atlanta offers the best pre-vertedness of any base except on the 717.

On reserve, can you yellow slip a Qualified open trip? Or is that like trying to triple stamp a double stamp?

Your friend needs to take my advice and not call crew scheduling in future such cases. Call the Delta MEC and ask to call one of the 2-3 former scheduling supervisors that your dues money is now paying to be on the ALPA payroll. These guys are outstanding and can get you an answer pretty quickly. They also have a good relationship with the company and can run "triage" when the line pilot cannot.

No you cannot. By default any Q trip is removed from open time 48 hours prior to report if no one has taken it. Since reserve coverage is only for same or next day, that means reserves couldn't ever do that.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the definitive answer, but it wouldn't make sense. The reason it's qualified in the first place was because they didn't have enough reserve coverage for at least one of the days, so the pilot couldn't drop it into open time. Letting a reserve pilot pick it up would do exactly the same thing as letting the original pilot drop it - reduce net reserves available.

I know several people have answered it, but what isn't being explained well is that a Qualified trip is actually still on another pilot's line. That pilot has a Personal Drop in the system for that trip, but there isn't enough reserve coverage for him to drop it. So, it's not actually in open time. As a reserve, just look at Actual trips to see what really in open time.

United American Airlines flights LAX SFO Auckland New Zealand - Australian Business Traveller

Would be nice of Delta expanded some international/wide body flying as well.

On a related note does anybody know the latest on the JV scope non compliance/scope violation?
