Not necessarily. I've set up a personal side on the surface and have liked it so much I've stopped carrying my iPad or laptop. I have yet to have any issue with freezing up, not charging, or anything else. Apple's fine and currently it's what I have around my house. But lately, I've been growing tired of the restrictiveness apple places on their products.

I love the MicroSD on the surface. It does freeze up now and then but mostly when I pull off the battery/keyboard while it is in sleep mode.
I know this is heresy but I like the Surface much better than the IPad. I have a MacBook and an IPhone but dislike iPads tremendously. They are not as capable for my purposes as a Surface. Namely file transfer, and external device use and memory storage. The 2 with RT is not ideal but I'm hoping the next iteration will be a 3 with full Windows 8.1 or better.
If I wanted to play games then the iPad is probably better. But I don't really play games so really its a kids toy. But still I've had to wipe my ipad2 clean and start over three times, that thing is not infallible.
I guess I don't get the love affair with apple. I owned an apple iPhone. It was an awful little tiny little phone. Tiny. So tiny. And the battery was so horrendous but at least it was more expensive and the camera sucked.

as to the hotel issue, I found that too but it was resolved using that plug they sent us. I have no problems on any outlets at home.

The surface doesn't charge both batteries simultaneously. It does the tablet to 80% then the keyboard to 80% then finishes the tablet and then the iPad. It doesn't do both.

Your correct however you have to get it to recognize both batteries or they will not charge. The problem is covered in the now 13 page long known issues document. Length of known issues document at USAIR using IPads is zero! By the way anytime you pull out a paper document to reference a FCR is supposed to be written. This is happening maybe 1% of the time so the company is unaware of many issues.
By new hire, if you mean guys in orientation right now, it should make it to the next class since there were unfilled openings. For a point of reference, the west coast has been what I would consider senior for many years and also the most stagnant. After the last bid, that is no longer the case. Captain went junior in LA and SEA.
Getting to the west coast for someone waiting for a class date should be relatively easy right now.

Thanks, scambo. I'm a Compass flow with a DOH, but under the 90 day "hold back." What can I say, I'm California dreamin'!
There's probably no OE to be assigned to that LCP on that rotation (since you are only a day or two away.) Bummer. It would normally be assigned by now. But... stuff happens. Could show up at the last minute. If you swap for a commutable trip, do not check to see if an OE got assigned. Never look back.
